eisenhower warned us about the military industrial complex, and just because its the status quo doesnt mean it benefits america. it benefits the elites, and it benefits israel :scusthov:

Let Fox news and our congressmen tell it and ISIS is gonna chop our heads off if we don't do something now...dont worry that we are falling behind in education, healthcare, overall health, poverty, and everything else that matters to Americans everyday FEAR ISIS and Russia :bryan:

I'm not a non-interventionist.

Now we have Other nations dictating the rules and outcomes of events we need to be apart of and redrawing boundaries.
like what, syria?

why does america NEED to intervene in syria :what: i have no interest in one cent of my money being spent on that conflict

i sure as fukk would not fight for it, and i know you wouldnt either

New Quinnipiac national polls out.
RealClearPolitics - 2016 Latest Polls

Bernie defeats every republican by big margins. Hillary loses to all but one (Trump who she beats by only 1 point).

I know people will say polls this far out don't matter but favorability does. Bernie is right now the most likeable candidate running and Hillary the most unlikeable.

Easy math.
Like you said, this far out general election polls are almost meaningless but to address the point...Bernie is more likable because no one has bothered to try and paint him as unlikable.
There is a lot to be said for being the new face on the national stage and Bernie is benefiting from that in regards to his favorable compared to Clinton who has been the subject of bad press and concentrated attacks for the better part of 30 years. So while people are still being introduced to Bernie, everyone has already decided on their opinion of Hillary.
The question is just how difficult would it be to make Bernie Sanders unlikable?
I know the conventional wisdom is that it can't be done but anyone who has any knowledge of Bernie Sanders before May 2015 could come up with all sorts of angles of attack designed to bring his favorables down.

So you would rather take a chance on someone 58% of Americans dislike on the chance Bernie could also be unlikeable after the republicans attack him?

Forget Bernie. The point remains Hillary is disliked by over 50% of the people. She considered dishonest. Why on earth would you think she's more electable?

I'd rather take my changes on the guy half the country doesn't HATE already.

My post had nothing to do with Hillary though. I was just pointing out that there seems to be this fairy tale that a lot of Bernie Sanders supporters are living in where they think he will continue to be seen as this popular figure in a general election like he is seen by liberals in a primary.
Keep in mind that the majority of the country isn't paying attention right now and won't be until some time well into the summer. Who knows how Bernie is going to react to being the focus of millions of dollars of funded attacks or how much that will make inroads with the general public when/if he becomes the Dem candidate.
My point is that there are things to attack him on in specific areas that could hurt his image in a general election. Ignoring that to continually harangue Hillary Clinton on her negatives doesn't change that reality.

Once again I don't deny that his negatives could rise. That still doesn't change the fact that 58% of Americans HATE Hillary Clinton.

If anything, what we've seen so far is republicans don't HATE Bernie. They think he's misguided because they disagree with his policies. But they actually respect his honesty in not being afraid to call himself a socialist. Something they believe all democrats secretly think. Guys like Glenn Beck have talked about Bernie in glowing terms for his honesty.

Unlike you I don't think Bernie will lose much favor once the general election comes around. He's shown that the more people hear and see him, the more they like him. The opposite is true of Hillary. The more people see her, the more they hate her.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the whole "Republicans like Bernie for his honesty" stuff. In 2008, when it looked like Obama was a lock for the Dem Primary, the Right were prone to saying nice things about Hillary too. Its a game they play where they act like the guy they think is going to lose is more acceptable than the guy who they assume they will have to face in November.
And you and I disagree on levels of effectiveness when The Conservative Machine actually turns its attention to Bernie in full force. I'm not saying it will be enough to make Bernie lose but I do think it will be more effective than you think it will just because of what I am assuming the angles of attack will be.
