so youre a cacMy friend, I'm not black and I'm guilty of using that word from time to time.
I agree, people shouldn't use it. Myself especially.
But this is a losing battle, man.
Never felt comfortable using it, I'm not going to try to chastise others for it but I just never liked the word. Maybe some people will follow suit if they're curious, maybe they won't.
I'm uh..brown dominican. Not black. But given those 3 choices...black.

I almost never use the word in public. In fact, 99% of the time it comes from me its on this forum. I grew up understanding how devaluing the word is. My parents are from the Bay Area and they never used it around me or on the phone. My pops was a C.O. , which explains a lot why he never put up with it being used in my household. Plus I grew up having a lot of white friends. The last thing I wanted to deal with was getting into an argument on who can say it and why with them. So kill that "honorary nikka" shyt with me .
It just bothers me to hear it in public. Especially from the asians

I checked one on IG last week and it was pathetic to hear her excuse. I couldn't even argue with her she was so lost

I stopped saying that word when i was 14 turning 15. I fell for the sucker shyt too at 12 years old going on 13 looking for validation and acceptance from others because i didnt love myself. A couple of rap songs and being around other ignorant people who i thought were cool made me give up my nerd, talking in proper english card to being an ignant black male. From 99 to 2001, i was on that dumb shyt about to throw my life away and believe me, i was real close because i had other people willing to show me the way to hell until a nightmare woke me up right on time and made me say fukk that ignant shyt. 
say no to self sabotage and self hatred. Self love will make you treat yourself and others right. America has tricked black people into thinking self hatred is self love. It takes a smart person to see, recognize and know the difference between both. Thats why its very important to know your history as a black man and as a black woman. Education is vital if you want to survive out here because theyre not going to teach you it in school. Youre going to have to do it on your own. Slavery did a number on us. Thats why i laugh when i see goofies like @BaggerofTea doing the most when they have self hatred issues as clear as day. They think "blackness" is an act.
We gotta educate our black boys and girls early about the ignant trap. thats how you save them early. Teach them about slavery and jim crow and the ignant images out there so they know what not to be or follow. The n word is a toxic word and will always be toxic. Cant drink poison and say its the cure when its meant to hurt you. Dont worry about how the rest of the world views us.
