Man this shyt is terrible. :snoop:

As a Brooklyn nikka, I'm ashamed. Please don't judge us off this, world. :whoa:

Please, friends. :whoa:

I'm one of the few that rocked wit Pap HEAVY from 03-06 and even tho I seen the :flabbynsick: in that nikka ever since, I always had it in the back of my mind that dude would get it together. I wasn't expectin a radio-friendly single, or an improved mic presence...but....but......I thought this nikka would at least learn some new flows...dumb certain songs down a LITTLE...or think of more witty punchlines.

This album is terrible from start to finish. The engineering is TERRIBLE. Voices of the same people on certain skits are at different volumes, you can tell where the engineer (Pap? :mjpls:) just "punched it in" with no attention paid to the overall volume of the track. Same with certain songs. Songs that are supposed to blend together don't blend well, and this has no cohesive quality. At all.

The production is what makes this an abysmal effort. Half (read: ALL) thee beats sound like they're STRAIGHT from 2004-2006 and that's being GENEROUS. The mixing levels are all fukked up, the quality is worse than your average run-of-the-mill SoundClick or YouTube producer...I mean, this nikka could've literally scoured the internet with a $1,000 budget and at least came with some bangers...I have a feeling sons pockets is REALLY hurtin and knowing he couldn't recoup on fees, he went the cheapest route possible. It shows in the production, engineering, and effort. Some songs, he doesn't even sound into it at all....Like he's still just reading off of paper, realizing at that there moment he just bankrupt himself. This nikka has NO voice inflection or verbal emotion whatsoever...

Take it from a former Pap fan...It's over. It's been over, but I was in denial.

This album is just sad. :sadbron:

If it's possible Nielsen SoundScan even checks for this shyt, I personally guarantee it will sell less than 4,000 copies. :sadcam:

The only tolerable tracks on this album are Cure, Pimpin' Won't Die, and the Prison Skit. Smh.

Look at Papoose, y'all. :snoop:

my ngga I was waitin for a brooknam native to critique.

I think you was a little harsh though I do agree about the mastering etc. obviously he went the cheapest route as I didn't even know that was a buckwild beat.

and yeah it sounds a lil outdated too but some of those songs sounded good to me, mother ghetto is the standard I would hold right now if you made a song reppin BK.

cure and turn it up was cool, RIP, faith and pimpin were fire to me.

if you tossed everything else out in sheepshead bay I wouldn't be mad.

I also don't know why you brought up soundscam because we all know that ain't a good point ever. check war report 2, great album and sold under 4000.

I feel your dissapointment though, reading your post was like you spoke it.

I like joey badazz and I plan on listenin to his album this week but I actually like you better and I ain't ever heard a song yet.

ngga u got me amped up don't let me down.

now back to papoose, he definitey needed somebody to help him go thru his catalog and help selct songs on some "lost tapes" sh!t cuz he has some gems.

that prison skit had me laughin and :whoa: I forgot law library 8. that sh!t was dope and nobody will be talking about stop and frisk so it might even be a classic by default after a few listens.

I feel you homie...I don't feel like I was harsh at all, when you take into account the shyt Pap been talkin about the industry holdin him back, other nikkas bein corny, etc...then take into account the WAIT this album took, nikka....:ld: your shyt better be FLAMES. Anything less is gettin throwin in the fukking hedges nikka. Not for nothin, I respect that you fukks wit me & most of that come from me being a good objective judge of music, so you already know...When my shyt drop, it's gonna be :blessed::blessed::blessed:

I can barely contain myself from leakin my own shyt, but with promo, artwork, & video work still needing to be done, I'm timing this shyt like it's a major label product. I'm just as anxious as you, my nikka. But :salute: for checkin for a nikka.

And Law Library 8...the only thing that kept that from being dope, is the layman can't understand that shyt. I'm a Law Library type of nikka (as in, when I caught my 4 year bid...while I was hiring lawyers and fighting for my life, not knowing HOW much time I'd get, I STAYED in the Law Library, absorbed, learned, and understood so much, that I used to think of that nikka Pap like :salute:) So while I understood every bit of it, the average person ain't gonna relate or be able to understand shyt when he has 90 big ass legal words strung back to back in one line. That shyt is a turn off to listeners, b. And even some jail nikkas is gonna look at it liike :scusthov: I woulda kept the concept, but nstead of rockin how he rocked, I woulda told a story or scenario that ended with the point I iwas trying to prove about whatever law is on the books, THEN went into the legal jargon. This shyt is just all over the place.

:snoop: This nikka let me down, b.

The Dark Ages. July 1st.

:blessed:

Gave it an entirely honest listen last night....not even half as good as Saigon's debut, and I once consider Papoose to be light years ahead of him

Just goes to show why ppl don't fukk with him no more, can't name one Papoose album/mixtape that has any type of replay value...

That’d be about right, his mixtape series was dope. Sometimes artists like that then get the mainstream album and the raw gritty that made me get with it isn’t there anymore and is replaced with a refined polished version

Weird probably just uploaded it to the platform that were in existence at release date cause it's on Spotify. These indie labels can be a bit trash with distribution of older music at times

Koala: "but how dope is the track on a intellectual level :jbhmm: "

That might be the first one after the breakout of his initial buzz

So it may be the ones leading up to that one

Law Library series should be animated for modern times it is worthy of release as a collection honestly, maybe as a means to show what he can do for artists with his Tunecore ambassadorship

I wanna go back and check but I have an aversion to that is causing me to procrastinate on that. Feels like going back to freshman year of high school honestly but also he is the proprietor of the most cringey punchlines of all time and he just strings them together like PunchlineGPT. I listen to punch-in rap from guys high as a kite standing around a mic punching in a bar at a time
