Stakes Is High
The beginning has a couple meh tracks, picks up with The Bizness, and the next two tracks. The entire middle of the album after Dinninit before Itzsoweezee is just....bland and doesn't recover momentum 'til the last handful of songs. The beats are overall too samey with the title track, The Bizness, and Itzsoweezee being the only real stand outs. The rest kind of blends together in mid tempo sameyness. None of the wild sample flips, change ups or new sample discoveries that De La was known for on their other albums. The only real new flip for that era on here is the Bayete sample. Plus a bunch of the joints got them on some Larry holmes shyt sounding like hectoring grumps. About half the album is excellent and the last 5 or 6 songs especially grew on me by just letting the album ride instead of just skipping to the title track and cutting off the album after that
