I read the thread. I also read the one intelligent reply that mentions that "just moving" is not affordable for everyone. You conveniently also ignored the point in my post and @Cole Cash's post that cheaper places are struggling too. Again, wealthy folks are moving to these lower cost of living areas and inflating home and rent prices. Most of them have the flexibility of not having children and having remote work options, most of the people struggling don't have that flexibility. Cheaper places like Vegas?! One of the hottest housing markets?? Where supply is dwindling and homes are going tens of thousands over asking? Where rents are seeing damn near 10% increase?

Nah man, if he's on the west coast he can just go to Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles....

Oh wait, housing costs and rental rates are through the fukking roof in all of those cities too. :snoop:

I told people three years ago, we were kicked out of our apartment in fukking Inglewood in August 2018 so he could do a "remodel" and then raise the rent to 2750 fukking dollars. In Inglewood! In a spot where I was literally washing the blood from gunshot wounds off my hands in the bathroom! And that was 2018, I don't even want to know what it got up to by the time Covid hit.

Breh why are landlords so greedy? I hate when I see people make posts about how "oh landlords have more expenses than you think". Many of them also have. multiple tenants paying the same price for rent so why do they feel the need to still charge so high to "supposedly" cover their mortgage and personal expenses

I didnt ignore anything. Maybe you missed that post. Simply take the tens of thousands in stimulus and tax returns/rebates most of these folks are getting and fukking bounce. What’s the issue? And yes, breaking news, Vegas is cheaper than the Bay Area. When you have x dollars, You will struggle less in a place like Vegas than you will in the Bay Area because your dollars stretch farther

How can you ask this question if you don’t know what their income and expenses were prior to the economic shut down.
Because America has trained their population well to always side with capital. If capital makes mistakes they get the benefit of the doubt and government socialism. If individuals make mistakes clearly the most reasonable outcome is to be made homeless and to die in the streets. Brainwashing works folks

Hasn't been lifted, they're appealing so the moratorium will remain in place.

So there are no black landlords?

So is someone supposed to just wait until they find a black landlord?

Do you realize the amount of people who need to rent exceeds the amount of black landlords?

And black landlords need money too.

Why don't people move away from these high prices cities? I know I would if the price of living was kicking my a$$..

It’s not easy to just pack up and move. Everyone has a different situation. They could have extended family they want to be near, don’t want to pull kids out of school district, finding a job in the new location that pays well, could be taking care of sick or elderly relatives and can’t afford a nurse or nursing home.
