It was the lakers and celtics in the damn finals for like 10 years straight!:why:

Those other teams had no chance :russ:.

I sort of laugh when people talk about the league now being top heavy. The NBA in the 80s was great but people weren't caught up on "parity" and "lets give other teams a chance" shyt like they are now. Too many cry baby fans nowadays.

shyt was almost as predictable as the 1960s.
The Lakers also went to the finals in 89 and 91
The 90s were the MJ era though... Luckily Hakeem got his crumbs :manny:

Yeah and there were no cable games outside of TBS with the Hawks and WGN with the Bulls...The league seemed really small back then...You just got what you could....It's the reason that 80% of Lakers fans of have never had California drivers licenses...

The 80's were fun to watch. Yeah we knew who were going to be in the finals but watching the league grow year by year was great. Back then you loved the game and there were no such things as "stans" or "dikk riders". You were "allowed" to like multiple players and teams WITHOUT abandoning your favorite team. The 80's fans >>>today's "fans" by a long shot. It was also better because we didn't know the player's every move, there was a certain respect and mystique even though some things about them were a bit embellished. Heck, even struggle teams were fun to watch.
