The 1 on 1 contest will cause more problems than they wanna admit.

If you wanna have that, don’t have an all star game, which means 80% of the all stars can stay home.

A 1 on 1 matchup looks horrible live in an arena.

The 1 on 1 stuff for some fans will wind up being valued almost as much as the title itself. Imagine Tatum winning a title and the first reaction being “give that shyt to SGA after he kicked your ass 1 on 1.”

The early start time will fix itself because of the Winter Olympics. The NBA can’t even control that.
This wasn't the case with Unrivaled's women tournament
