Having said that, the media is to blame for OKC and IND not getting the props they deserve. They do an extremely poor job promoting the sport and players, which hurts fans interests in smaller market teams and guys outside of the old crew (LeBron, Curry, Durant, etc.).

As far as the "face of the league" goes, Zion Williamson fumbled that crown. He had all the hype since high school, his explosive playstyle was a direct counter to all the 3-point barrage in the league, if only he was disciplined about managing his weight, he had all the makings of a megastar.

ill watch clips of the 4th quarter of NBA games at this point
nobody is reinventing the wheel so its pointless... even the Game 2 tonight of the finals
I just saw half ass defense, teams swinging the ball around the 3 ... and bigs jacking up shots with nobody under the rim

the great part is with no bias or teams being bought into rings ... we get to actually see amazing players and clubs finally get the credit they deserve if they prove it

First things first:

This is easily the worst NBA Finals matchup in our lifetime. This is not hyperbole. I don't have to explain that SGA and Haliburton are not "face of the league" stars.
That this -Thunder Pacers- is the best the NBA has to offer in 2025 says everything about how much the league is in trouble.

But the REAL big problem: of the big stars.. nobody is the face of the league actually. At bare minimum you have to have to drive to win a chip.
The "face' LeBron does not care if he wins a chip. He sold a barbie doll during the Playoffs. He did a podcast during the NBA Finals.

LeBron
is drinking wine and doing podcasts with a white dude and couldn't care less if he wins another chip for my Lakers, he's statpaddng and doing side projects.

great scorer - needs to get out of his own way with the refs and play better not just say "I need to play better that's on me".

KD:
DONE. Should focus on tweeting back at fans full-time. The asterisk championships/MVPs in the Bay is one thing, but failing on the Nets and Suns is a legacy killer.

still a great player but with the Luka trade and the clown running things there, the chance of a chip nears 0.

PG-13:
doesn't even deserve a mention. Chose the money and became irrelevant.

Kawhi:
if not injury prone, a real challenger to the throne stats wise. However: 0.0 personality for fans to be drawn to.

Embiid:
DONE. I can't imagine why anyone would ever like him as a person, but he could ball. That's over now.

Dame Time:
Shouldn't be on this list respectfully. There's always a reason for the poor play when it matters, but he's not going to carry the league.

Wembayana: sure he's good, but because of the low quality team he is on he doesn't get the shine (tv time) required to be the face of the league.

Anthony Edwards: let's check back in in 2-3 years. Big bully vs a beat up old Lebron, disappears after talking all that tough shyt... against OKC
