The thread is more about healthy Rose being a more exciting player than Lebron and more important to the league than people think in retrospect, of course. Rose isn't your average superstar player. I didn't think he was on Lebron level back then (maybe over hyped a bit), but I do now.

Better overall? Probably not. But Rose was easily more exciting during his MVP year.

I'm not a LeBron hater in the least bit, but for me watching a 6'2 guard rip bob and weave through defenses is a lot more exciting than watching a huge guy push his way through defenses/ settle for a jumper...

I've been saying this for years. LeBron is quite boring to watch in comparison. He barely does any crazy off balance shots, his handles are average, he does the same dunk every game, the only thing he really does exciting is his blocks, LeBron's probably one of the most boring MVP players out there.

The one thing people forget when slandering Rose's MVP year is that he single-handedly turned a solid team into the #1 team in the league in extraordinary fashion. He dominated teams practically by himself and still managed to play a very unselfish brand of basketball. The team was built perfectly around him and he might have been one shot creator (and better offensive scheme) away from a championship.

Even if the numbers might not hold up, he was responsible for more W's as a single player than anyone in the league that year.
