One of my own family members was misdiagnosed by supposedly "good" doctors at the Mayo Clinic when she went up there to get tested. It took years for her to figure out and fix the issue. A few of the doctors argued with her about receiving a surgery she felt she didn't need. She was having problems with her eyes, and they said she would need surgery, but the idiots didn't take the time to look through the medical curricula and trace her problems back to graves disease. So far, she hasn't had any more symptoms, but damn, knowing if she had undergone surgery she would probably be in worse condition today gets to me.

The doctors didn't take their time with her and just treated her like she was an idiot for questioning their recommendations. But alas, it just reminded me that we need more Blacks in medical care and research. There are too few and in some states you'd be hard-pressed to find a Black that owns his/her own clinic.

Black health is very important and we shouldn't base it off of what White people say or think, I believe.

The problem is that a lot of blacks are under serious debt of loans and don't want to take out anynore of them doing additional schooling. Especially one as long and expensive as medical school. They want to be making money as soon as possible out of college.

Yup...

Ain't nobody gonna go to school and have a half a million in debt on their head and only be able to make real money at 35

Too expensive to be a doctor as an American unless you come from money or have scholarships out the ass.

200,000 or higher in student loans ain’t no joke. Not to mention your in school for atleast another decade. Won’t be able to make any money until your in your well into your 30s.

Kudos to those that have succeeded. But that is a long road.

The narrative is that BM are already not going to college to begin with, so how are we going to get them to go through 4 years of medical school plus residency?

How you going to live a long and fruitful life by going to a doctor that has racial animus or bias and neglect his/her Black patients? Or depend on White medical scientists to properly study Black health and make viable recommendations?

We are relying too much on Whites for one of the most important parts of our lives, health. You won't be enjoying any type of money with fukked up health.
