Thanks for posting. I was looking for something current like this.
I came across a canon years ago that the journalist Toure compiled in his book Whose Afraid of Post-Blackness. Put me on to a lot of the black folks that were pushing black "high culture" in literature, poetry, and the arts. This was years ago though and glad someone compiled a more current canon.
With the demise of Ebony and Jet and other black media publications, we just don't have anything that makes it accessible to know who's who, even with the popularity of social media.
