Looks like we have a winner. Autobiography of Malcolm X will be our first book.

I already have a copy of the book, but I want to be respectful of everyone’s time and money, so should I give it a week for everyone to obtain a copy who would like to participate?

-Libgen can be a resource to download the book for free.

-eBay has used copies for as low as $4.43.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X: As Told to Alex Haley 9780345350688 | eBay

The sooner everyone gets their copy, the sooner we can start.

When you have received your copy, please affirm in this thread.

I will post a follow-up reading and discussion schedule later today.

Above the fray.
Look forward to reading the threads from the Harlem Book Club.

Excellent name and first book selection.
A continually relevant book, and will be interesting hearing how it's interpreted by people of different age ranges and from different parts of the world.

Can't commit to joining, but will be eavesdropping like a MFer.

Just to kick us off, we were using the Schomburg reading list for black liberation as our well for book suggestion. I eventually would like to tackle classics like these you suggested.
