I kinda agree. I keep listening to it and I wanna like it but for some reason it's just not resonating with me personally but there are a few tracks that I like.

I thought complexion, how much a dollar cost, alright, these walls, institutionalized, and you ain't gotta lie were incredible songs.

Granted, I'm older so I appreciate the album from a music standpoint versus the direction hip hop is going now as a whole.

Lyrically he's put out a very positive message. Something that us as black people should be embracing...

I ain't even gon lie, I haven't heard the album but it's because I heard GKMC and I really hate the artsy style of Kendrick's rapping, I like rappers with nice flows and word play like 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Snootie Wild and Soulja Boy.

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever come back to this album. Can't really think of any quatables or gems he dropped.

Beats are good, but I heard it all before.

Alright is my jam though:dj2:

wit all that doo wop and note runs.

it misses the point of sampling, which is to either take a cool line or melody and turn it into an even cooler song - or to take a few cool sounds and work it into a cool song. kendrick has the instruments and musicians, but he is missing the cool part!

In theory yes, but most sampling in hip-hop has resulted in a watered down version of the original with cheapened content. There's seriously very few examples where rappers have expounded upon original works. Dr. Dre's The Chronic is a perfect example of this and before you respond go listen the originals
