The 2000 Mets :manny:

Benny Agbayani, Timo Perez, Jay Payton and a :flabbynsick: Derek Bell in the height of the Steroid Era. :scusthov:

That outfield will always be worse because that shouldn't be the outfield of a team that goes to the World Series.

not just baseball either

Two sources told NBA.com that the Celtics forward will still have $35 million coming after he retires. He'll be due $5 million annually for seven years, the result of deferred salary Garnett and agent Andy Miller got in each of his past two contract extensions. Whatever portion is due from this season might be affected by games lost to the lockout, but it's not as if Garnett's financial spigot gets turned off next spring

i love stories like these. agents looking out for their clients and the client being smart enough to jump on it when it's presented to him by the agent.

depending on the terms its not that smart of a deal. Money today is worth more than money tomorrow. If you win the lottery you should generally take a lump sum over the payments.

yeah i know about time value of money. in normal circumstances i would agree, but most of these guys aren't that smart with money and need to be protected from themselves (agent looking out for them).
