In regards to meek...People don't let NY people claim Philly or jersey rappers as an overall coast like the south does.

I think its cause people think NY is the entire east coast
its funny how that works.....

on another note the next industry plant will be from overseas possibly the uk

Only hard workin' artists thrive...

How many rappers are signed right now n have been for years but havent dropped one album n have no buzz? You only got to look at ymcmb rooster to see this...

You still gotta work hard to build a fanbase whether u signed to a major or not... The label will only push u if u push urself...

Also havin a good manager a good network and a hardworkin team behind u helps a lot

. . like hundreds if not thousands . . maybe you don't know it works

Naw homie... please explain this industry plant angle to me... please inquiring minds want to know

someone who is hyped up as a grass-roots artist, when in fact theyre not.

industry plants have been around prolly as long as the industry itself. a big deal is being made about it now within hip-hop because these labels seem to be using plants as their new business model for most of the new "stars". and its killing hip-hop. not saying that these are the 1st ever rap plants, but it was never prevalent like it is now, and the plants of the past certainly weren't made out to be kings like they are now.

I get what you are saying, but realistically thats just standard marketing... very few artists historically even made it to the stages of pressing up an record without label backing... maybe i am coming from an east coast perspective, i think in the south, and in the bay there have historically been a lot of unsigned artists that got known by just pressing up songs and floating them around. but as far as the east coast goes everyone from run dmc, to rakim, to nas, redman, wu tang, de la soul, you never heard of these dudes until they were down with some industry connects...

lol at y'all forcing ASAP Rocky on that list. A dude who never pretended to be independent while buzzing with Live.Love.ASAP is somehow a plant. A dude who had zero public cosigns outside of Drake. But somehow that's the same as rappers who were forced by the biggest, richest and most powerful names in hip hop history (e.g. Jay-Z, Dre) and have a whole industry forcing their names into rap interviews/cosigns.

carry on :mjlol:
