Yeah this kid needs to be training in Europe ASAP.

He's too talented for the average American kid to handle. Most American parents put their kids in soccer since it's a good foundation for other sports....plus it helps the kids burn energy and there's always the chance your kid can ball.

Suburban white kids only play in leagues. You'll never see a random group of white kids just playing soccer for fun the way American kids play basketball or football for fun. That's why we suck at soccer. A lot of the skill you learn is just playing with friends and mastering your footwork, dribbling etc. Then when you compete in leagues, you can try out how your moves work in competition. Same way dudes practice a crossover with their homies before trying it in a real game.

American kids only play soccer in structured leagues and then turnaround and play 3 other sports. Soccer has too much global participation. If you're gonna go for it, you have to start early and be 100% "All In."

For the record he’s training with Eddie Johnson. He hasn’t played organized on a field yet. He’s clearly developing skill but he’s far off right right now.
It’s like saying a kid dominating flag football is ready to jump to varsity.

yeah, i was legit the exact the same at that age. no lie(ya'll gonna say i'm lying anyway.) but eventually the fact that i wasn't the best with distance running and conditioning as i got older. made me say fukk it, and i started playing football and baseball instead. you'll go alot further being the usain bolt of soccer, than the kyrie irving of soccer in my experience

No I fully believe you. I was the same way, and so were many Nigerian kids I knew.

learning spacing, overlapping runs, how to play accurate through balls, etc etc will help you much more than how to beat a man off the dribble 1v1.

Good luck to him but we see this in every sport every few years.

They all end up washed.

depends on the country..in some countries like Brazil futsal is part of grassroots

Yeah I’m talking specifically in regards to the US. Development here isn’t in the same conversation as the rest of the top countries.

Point being that even this kids coach acknowledges he’s really only been training skills. To say a kid who has only trained skill and played futsal is the next one of the “GOATS” is lunacy. Like I said earlier you wouldn’t say that some kid playing flag football is the next Mahomes
