I was watching some videos on exactly how the NFL deal with xbox is, and its shaping up to be a much bigger deal than most people realize
What is the deal exactly? What, I get fantasy football shyt I probably don't even care about, blah blah blah
What the NFL's deal with Xbox really is? Its a deal for an app basically
The app will overlay the screen so you can watch an NFL game on your TV and have the app up at the same time
Then if someone scores on say your fantasy team? Immediately you will be notified via the app with a prompt asking do you want to see the highlight?
Thats better than Redzone, but you get the idea.
So the question then becomes, well Redzone shows me when people are about to score. Will this app do that?
There is no law saying they cannot. If that was the case, then Redzone itself would be infringing on Fox & CBS rights with the NFL since thats the games they show on there
There's always a loophole, and this would be an easy hurdle because the xbox has nothing to do with actual cable channels
But for now, the only thing we know for SURE is you can see highlights immediately after it happens, from any game, at anytime. Thats not a bad starting point.
2ndly, if you are aware of the Madden Sunday Ticket deal, and read the Kotaku article on why EA and the NFL cannot openly promote that deal
Then you'll understand why the same principals would apply here as well

Now if you want to see the app in action yourself, here it is in its unfinished form. Just remember, there will be ways to manipulate the highlights if a more formal way isn't built in. Maybe your "fantasy" team has every starter on another game you want to keep an eye on. That way every big play will set off an alert with a highlight instantly
