Have you ever heard of the Southern Strategy? Which has been employed by conservatives since the 70s to demonize black people and play up white fear and resentment of black people? That was the work of your idol Richard Nixon.

I could understand learning something about life, strategy, etc. even from an enemy, but to put up a picture on your wall of someone like Nixon is just the epitome of c00n ass behavior.

Nixon was a masterful politician. He just had very powerful haters. How else could a low born, impoverished, non-Ivy, ugly, unlikable man become President? Check out his story. There's a lot of valuable lessons in there.

LBJ is an example and a reminder. You're right, he got lost in the job. Not only that, but he wasn't the most effective listener, which is also one area that I have to be mindful of. That "LISTEN" picture reminds me that even the last dictatorial New Deal President had to shut up and listen once in a while.

And yes, both of these men were men of their day and said things that would make men of our time wince. So what? Get over it. I'm sure your progeny will be all when they read the crazy prejudices that you espoused on the Internet. Hell, most people can't even look at a picture of what you were wearing 10 years ago without laughing or making the face.
