The notion that we somehow "outgrow" music is simply unadulterated bullcrap.

50 clearly doenst rap how he raps on get rich. his ear for beats is shot.
wayne has obviously lost his fastball since the the carter 3 sessions mixtape.

Jay-z hasnt been lyrical since Black Album. He told a great false story on American Gangster though.

These are facts. How come Nas is as vivid as when he first came out.

Its the artist that can not create anymore. maybe they simply have exhausted those abilities .Its possible.

To say we outgrow is bullshyt. Because I still love "What Up Gansta" ......"Something You Forgot"......"what more can I say"......still listen to them everyday and if the artists still created listenable music i would still listen

You can outgrow music tho...I got plenty of tracks on my computer I used to rock with, that I wouldnt play today. Furthermore, there are plenty of artists who still are relevant and have fanbases who you can outgrow depending on where life takes you, Ross is one of those artists for me. People love his shyt and I used to play him heavy thru the DTR/TD days, but dude is still making the same fairy tales and I've gotten to a place where that's not the type of music I want to hear.

I 100% disagree. He raps the exact same, although he does have some different sounding tracks too and he's not completely consistnet. But I think people just expect every single song to sound like GRODT, and he instead chooses to mix it up. He can still make music just as good as GRODT imo. The whole first half of BIST was solid and GRODT-like. I still think that album is highly underrated and without the lame pop songs at the end would have been a great album.

I do agree that Jay hasn't put out anything very good since Black Album. I do think recent Nas stuff has been over-rated and haven't felt it that much. Last album I really liked by Nas was HHID (and I didn't like SD before that), and that still had a lot of meh tracks.

In regards to the title though, I agree. I have not outgrown any of the music I listen to. I still bump the same stuff since I first got really into music.

the way 50 raps today is the same way he rapped in 2003? i can somewhat agree with that maybe . but his creative mind is lost....the song with skylar grey would be great if he took her off the song and didnt try to make it pop

i believe this started when he made that horrible song disco inferno

oh and cant forget candy shop

Funny, how I was trying to listen to Jada's "Kiss of Death" on my laptop and I couldn't believe that how poorly that album aged since 2004. The subject matter (Outside of "Why" and "By your side"), the beats, the lyrics, and even the song structure aged like bread :scusthov: . Jada can kill 16s and mixtapes, but damn, his solo shyt is dismal. Rappers with limited vision have the least re playable music.

That's subjective...I mean I even feel like I've outgrown a group like dead prez being that I don't think all of their philosophies are right/the best answer for blacks nor the most productive...you have phases in life and you can outgrow that, that's simply part of life and growth. Same way people grow into new music.

See, this is where it get subjective tho, I listen to all sorts of rap cuz they have different functions. I used to fukk with Gucci from 07-10 but while I've outgrown that shyt (and also think he fell the fukk off) others still love him and don't think he's missed a beat. Some will say it's outgrowing childish music, some say it's outgrowing the subject matter, and some just say its an artist becoming wack..,there are a lot of ways to look at it.

Thank you. How the fukk can nikkas say they outgrew something as an excuse to not listen to their new music but then go back and listen to their old shyt and have the same feeling u had when it first came out?

Or say they outgrew 50/Cam's subject matter but then go listen to fukking Rick Ross and Meek Mill..
