*The Highest Certified Solo Album in Hip Hop History

:mindblown:

And it still sound just as good 25 years later. This joint is literally a 90's Rap Time Capsule. It would have sold more had Big lived. He could rode this album all the way to 2000, that's how many singles and hits it had. Still one of the best mastered LP's ever.

Didnt even realize this went diamond :ohhh::ohhh:

Double albums aren't really a thing anymore, but if someone were to try it, this is how you do it. 24 tracks and there are maybe three of them that I skip. That's how great this album is. It's a shame because Biggie was on his way to topping this if he hadn't gotten killed. :mjcry:

I wonder what it must have been like to hear this album when it came out, two weeks after Biggie's death. How do you even take in the title? Songs like "Miss U" and "You're Nobody ('Til Somebody Kills You)" must have been like a shock to the system. :damn:

I love this album, it's in my top 5. Not my most listened to but when I do, I listen to it repeatedly for days at a time. This and RTD, I honestly don't know which one I like better, both undisputed classics.

I played this through very recently it's a great album it is often under appreciated how difficult it is to pull off a great double album but Biggie did it.

I mean can anyone count the number of really good double albums on more than one hand? Pac's All Eyes On Me is very good attempt I like R. Kelly's R' but apart from that most double albums just suffer from too many filler tracks. Nas and Jay's attempts at a double album are good example's of this.

what's the most fascinating thing is that this album was complete before BIG passed. Sequenced how BIG wanted it and such. Still the most successful double album to come out of the East Coast. Was so successful Nas & Jay tried to replicate. Nas joint got leaked and Hov's had too much filler.

GOAT Hip Hop album for the simple fact Biggie had every type of song on here and he excelled with every type of song numerous times on this album

Biggie mastered every attribute to takes to be a GREAT emcee and the production on this album is timeless

The production still sounds fresh today; the production is cinematic.
