He recorded this for Ron G the night of the Quad Studio shooting November 30, 1994 and Ron G put it on a Big L remix and called it “Deadly Combinations” - it’s said Ron G is related to west coast DJ Julio G
He was meant to record another for Little Shawn at Quad Studio and got robbed in the lobby by the elevator (I’ve been in that elevator circa November 2011)
I believe it was a botched robbery set-up by people that Tupac was running with that were even showering him with lavish gifts like Rolex watches (anyone check the validity of that Rolex though)
Tupac recorded for Ron G for free and was attempting to charge Little Shawn $10K - which makes sense because Little Shawn had an album budget. At first Jimmy Henchman expressed displeasure with this but then called back and agreed on the pricing
Nobody has mentioned until now that Little Shawn was also robbed of a Tupac guest appearance on his project that would probably still help push sales and streaming numbers to this day
But here is the gist of my thread
What if Ron G or someone associated had given wind that Tupac was recording for him for free but wanted to charge them. Personally if I or my crew gave you a Rolex and you wanna charge me the price of the Rolex after you just did a verse for free
I’mma feel like I want my Rolex back
People say that they didn’t take the Rolex off of him but alleviated him of all of his other jewelry as a message … well honestly most hoodlums probably don’t know how to take a Rolex off and probably are unlikely to experience that learning curve at close quarters while multiple guns are involved
