Let's break this down, she sounds "right" but the presentation is pretty deceptive.

For Black women of ALL ages, Black men are not their problem. Not even close (see table at end of post). HIV is #13 and Homicide is #15. So saying Black women are killed overall by Black men as the #2 cause of death is bullshyt.

Now let's zoom in on the young ages: 15 - 29. Start on page 91. Homicide is the #2 cause of death. In fairness, amongst ALL races about 90% of female homicide victims are from male perpetrators. So does this mean she is right and "dating a Black man puts you in danger?"

First, the rate of Black female homicide victims is between 5-9 per 100,000 in that age group. The Black male homicide victim rate is between 50 to 80 per 100,000 in the same age group. Therefore a Black dude is 10X likely to be a victim than a woman. In fact, if anyone is going to get killed on a "date with a Black man" statistically it is more likely to be the man at the hands of some other dude

Also 8 per 100,000 is the White male homicide victimization rate in the same age group. So Black women are only as or even less likely to get killed than a White dude. Sorry I have trouble feeling sympathy when the cards are stacked against BM like that.

Now finally, let's look at White girls in the same age group. From 15-24 the 4th leading cause of death for White women is homicide--mostly by White men--granted the rate is low (about 2 per 100,000). From 25-29 it is cause #5. The only reason it isn't cause #3 and we can't say "White men are the #3 cause of death of White women" is because their suicide rate is so high, that takes the #2 spot.

Now I know what comes next--they say since WW homicide rate is only 2 per 100,000 versus 5-9 per 100,000 for BW than it is a "safer choice" to not date BM. The problem is not BM, the problem is most Blacks proportionally live in high-crime urban areas. See table 6 from the DoJ study (https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/bvvc.pdf).

For both Blacks and non-Blacks, 60% of females were killed by intimates and casual acquaintances. Think about that--in other words WW get killed by the same types as BW. The only difference is their rate is lower because they aren't disproportionately stuck in high crime areas. In other words, your danger in dating a BM is only as dangerous as the area you live in. If you are dating a gang member or dealer, well what do you expect. If you are dating a regular dude with a job, your chances aren't that high and you are probably not too much more at risk than a WW.

But these bishes don't want the nuanced facts. They want to beat the BM with a bat since without us everything would be perfect, right?

I'm sure there are...just like a lot of normal White men kill their girls or their whole families. I will bet money though most of the people killing women (BM or WM) have priors or not the cleanest history. It typically isn't Dr. Huxtable snapping and killing Claire though of course that happens.

Don't get me wrong, I want to work to improve things and I have friends that work at reducing relationship violence--but it is a societal thing tied into why we kill each other in general sadly, not because we hate our women. Clearly most homicides are probably mostly tied to young people, guns, drugs and gangs, but not every homicide is a murder. A homicide is when somebody causes the death of another. So a homicide can be an accident or intentional. So if somebody is reckless in a car and causes the death of a person they can be charged with vehicular homicide. If some fool is toying with a gun and it goes off and kills somebody that is a homicide, but it may not be a murder.

A Florissant man has been charged with murder after allegedly strangling his wife early Thursday morning.

Peter Chafin, 42, called police at about 7 a.m. Thursday, and when Florissant police arrived, they found his wife, Kiera Chafin, 22, strangled to death in their home in the first block of Apache Court.


Police arrested Peter Chafin at the scene, and he is being held on a charge of second-degree murder with bail set at $300,000.
