I used to watch this show with my sister and enjoyed it. Theme song was classic and Seth was one of the 1st characters to usher in the nerds being cool on TV that is really popular now.

It's definitely up there, but there is too much competition just among teen/young adult dramas from the late 90's-00's to outright say The O.C. has the best 1st season of a TV Show EVER. "Veronica Mars" and "Friday Night Lights" had great 1st seasons. The 1 & only seasons of Judd Apatow's "Freaks & Geeks" & "Undeclared" were great. "Felicity" had a very good 1st season. "Gilmore Girls" had a really good 1st season. There are other good WB shows that I own on DVD & haven't watched yet, like "Everwood" & "Popular", that I hear have really good 1st seasons.

I remember watchin a marathon of those summer episodes on FX before the fall premiere and that shyt had me hooked. shyt kinda went downhill from there but overall the first season and half or so were piff.

One of my all time favorite shows

The OC was the White Fresh Prince. Ryan was a kid from the hood who's father didn't want him , he got saved by a rich businessman, befriended their lame azz son, moved into the pool house, brought hood thuggery to the private school and spent the entire show slaying rich California bytches
