Who has signed up yet?

It's becoming very apparent that Obamacare is more than just a news story on NPR. Like, they will penalize you if you don't get signed up. Plus, some of us, like myself, are no longer going to be under our parent's plan.

So any Coli Fam in the medical insurance industry want to fill us in with the details on Obamacare? What can we expect when signing up? Are there rolling enrollments? What do we get with the coverage? How much does it cost?

Through the ACA, Medicare was expanded in my state and I was able to apply for a new program to get health care. It is a wonderful thing knowing that if something bad happens, you are covered.

I know, right? But Social Security was a clusterfvck when it started and it barely covered anyone but it's the most secure paycheck in America right now and it all but eliminated geriatric poverty. This Obamacare is just a Trojan Horse for universal coverage. We're just in transition.

I'm just hoping that some Coli posters can share their experiences and expertise so that the rest of us can get caught up to speed and don't miss out.

Uh, I just had major surgery. I'm currently sitting in bed, doped up to my eyeballs, recovering. I have health insurance. However, that's going to change in a few months when I turn 26. I'm just getting prepared so I don't get blindsided or hit with that penalty.

I know a lot of you think you're comedians but really this is one of the MANY threads I've made to kinda heighten the discussion around here and to talk some real sh!t. Same goes for my yoga threads and my meditation threads.

Anyway, I spent a whole morning trying to solve this situation and I've come to the conclusion that low key, this whole Obamacare thing is a backdoor for universal Medicaid. If any of y'all need tips on how to navigate this healthcare sh!t hit me up. It's not as straight forward as one would hope, but it's possible to get the care that you need.
