Just as it was just getting good
No, it's a terrible trade for Orlando, what young pieces are they getting? Afflalo is turning 27 and has $22 million owed to him, and Al Harrington is about to be 32 and has $21 million left on his deal. The only player under 25 they got was Vucevic who isn't bad but won't be a starting quality player, and the picks from 3 playoff teams will be awful.

This is a horrific deal for them, just like the Hornets would have been fukked if that CP3 trade went through. They made out the worst of the teams involved in this trade.

They get Harkless who's a rookie (not saying he's a star), $22 mill for Afflalo is good and he'll contribute immediately. Harrington is a buyout / trade candidate. If they don't he's a serviceable veteran on a very young team. My knock on this deal is the level of protection for these picks. You don't want to wait a super long time to get a lottery pick a la Detroit or conversely trade a star for picks in the 20's.

My only reason I say don't knock the trade completely because Orlando got to scorch the earth with assets in tow. A guy like Rondo was drafted at 21. Then they get to be real bad and get a chance to draft an elite player. You don't know what Afflalo, Harkless and Vucevic will become. People did the same thing when Pau was traded, it worked out OK. A guy like Gortat became serviceable in the right situation. They didn't win this trade by any means but to say there's no chance it works out is short sighted.

how is denver eating off this trade better than orlando?

shed $43 million in future guaranteed salary while getting the better player + got young asset that just killed it in summer league.

He should consider running for President, he'd swap national debt with Norway and Finland where both receive a future first round pick in return.

It's a bad trade for them, they still have Jameer and Hedo on their team, they let Ryan Anderson go and then take back Al Harrington :mindblown: You can point to Rondo and I can point to 10 other dudes drafted at 21 that didn't amount to much in the league.

If you're going to suck, atleast get a gang of young players back in return.
