They're ammo to move in the draft / trade for established players and at best they're most likely to become role players. We agree that protected picks were a bad move (orl needed to get at least 1 pick with a solid chance to be in the lottery). In theory this significantly worse orl team gives their own picks a better shot at becoming a high lottery pick.

they're getting picks from Philly, Denver, and LA. NONE of those picks will be in the lotto, thus, the protection means nothing.
