The best lanes to have if they use lane 1 is 3,4,5 & 6.

But for the last couple of championships that ive seen that have a 9 lane thrack they dont use lane 1 as it is too tight.

I see the lane 9, but even those running out of lane 2 don't seem to do too well either.
