I think they were so badly hurt by the Lebron thing they just looking for "character" guys at this point but at best that will get you to be a team like the Pacers, stuck as a mid tier playoff team if everyhting even breaks right

Yeah, and I think they're also now trying to emulate the Thunder, neglecting the fact that all the "nice kids" the Thunder drafted were high impact players with skills that translate to the next level.

Barnes wouldn't be a bad pick at 6, and if they got the 11th they could take Jeremy Lamb if he's there. They need to trade down if they want Barnes that badly.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Miller can play 4 if we go small I guess

Pierce and Green can both play 4

Plus we have Bass, KG, Steimsma, and Jajuan for bigs

I'm sure we will sign somebody. Maybe go hard after Hibbert or just somebody like Humphries

Just felt like those were 2 best talents on board in terms of upside

Nicholson, Melo, and White are interesting tho

Yeah I didn't get that either

I'd say best case is Bynum

Hes more athletic then Bynum without Bynums post game..I guess a little of Dwight or Amare though dudes even bigger then Dwight at his age by a lot..

He could be a total bust but you gotta take a chance on a guy with that much ahtletic ability at that size considering theyres no big men anymore..if he ever develops anything that resembles a decent post game hes gonna be a monster..

He has coordination and footwork so it can be done just a matter of wheter or not hell ever give a shyt..

I think he'll be around 6"10 ish in shoes, I'd be shocked if he was over 6"11, so he's not quite as big as Bynum who is a legit 7"0 to 7"1. If we're to believe he played the college season @ 290lbs he's a freak of nature athletically though, cause 290lbs isn't supposed to be that explosive and he was probably the fastest player on that Uconn team.

Teams are just scared of taking big men now, we saw it with Greg Monroe and DeMarcus Cousins, they find reasons not to draft them instead of all the reasons they should. At worst, I think Drummond ends up a really good shotblocker and rebounder, he's already really good at defending the pick and roll. If someone takes the time and effort to teach him to play big like the Lakers did with Bynum, the sky is the limit for him, he has the talent/potential to be the best player from the draft.

If Portland or Cleveland gets him, he'll develop, if the Kings or Bobcats take him he's doomed.

Drummonds vitals and how he moves with those vitals is not human....You'd just have to believe in his worth ethic....

out the box tho...he'll impact defense if NOTHING else..can you keep him on the floor tho?...definatly not at the end of games with that 29% freethrow shooting...29 fukking %?...fa real?..

You can't pass on him...you gotta hold your nuts and pull the trigger.

It's dumb because they took a non-impact player last year at 4, building a "safe" team is cool and all, but that ain't gonna be a winner long term.

If they want him so bad, trade the 4 & 24 for the 6 & 11.

I'm sure Cleveland would make that trade in a heartbeat. Portland on the other hand, not so much.

And I dont get it, are you saying Barnes won't be an impact player for them? He could easily come in and be the 2nd leading scorer on that team next year. I dont think there's anything wrong with going the "safe" route here.

He was 290 at Uconn :wtf: amazing he still had the explosiveness..If this dude has any sort of work ethic hell be a beast..

Staying a year wouldnt have done much either because these guards in college cant even throw a simple fukkin entry pass to a big guy anymore..

At some point you have to take a risk in the draft, the Cavs M.O. now seems to be get the high character "Safe" player. Sure, that's good in theory but it limits what your teams ceiling is. They reached for Tristan when they could have just traded down for him, and if they take Barnes 4 it'll be another reach.

He's a good player, but he has 3rd or 4th best player on a team written all over him and that's the guy you want as the 2nd scorer?

He just recently lost 22lbs and is at 268lbs, they said he hit 290lbs towards the end of the season.

Also, I think teams should look at how he played against Fab Melo, he seemed to get up for playing against another big guy, and he physically dominated him every time they played.
