Someone could get a steal if they gamble.

:manny:

:ohlawd:

God forbid David Kahn did some shyt like that. Let Petrie do that shyt just so I can see whether they'll have a ton of PG jokes for the Kings.\

fukk outta here, No way would we deal the 7th pick for Varejao.

That's interesting as fukk because it totally justifies who I have the Dubs taking at 7.

updated mock. After this, 2 more, one next wednesday, and then the final one that Thursday before the draft.

I'll keep it brief whenever possible.

1. New Orleans Hornets- Anthony Davis, F, Kentucky #23
Next.

2. Charlotte Bobcats- Thomas Robinson, F, Kansas #0
Despite all of the rumors surrounding this pick, I don't think Rich Cho will overthink this if he can't finagle a trade. It's really come down to Robinson, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Harrison Barnes

3. Washington Wizards- Bradley Beal, G, Florida #23

With the trade today that the Wizards made with the Hornets acquiring Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza, the Wizards find themselves with depth everywhere except for the guard spots. This is where Beal comes in.

4. Cleveland Cavaliers- Harrison Barnes, F, North Carolina #40
I don't think Cleveland should choose Barnes over MKG, but canceling a workout for the Sacramento Kings probably doesn't give off good vibes if you think you'll wind up being picked by them. If Barnes' agent knows #4 is his safety net, then this is where he will be caught.

5. Sacramento Kings- Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, F, Kentucky #14
If Sacramento goes out of their way to choose Damian Lillard, Petrie should get the Kahn treatment x10. MKG has a hitch in his jumper, but he can offer so much in terms of defense to a team allergic to playing it. The rest of their clusterfukk can be reconfigured to whatever they want to do.

6. Portland Trail Blazers- Andre Drummond, C, Connecticut #12
I know they love Damian Lillard as well, but Drummond is too obvious of a pick to pass up for this center starved team. Lillard is ONLY a plan B.

7. Golden State Warriors- Tyler Zeller, F/C, North Carolina #44

Follow me on this. They don't seem to be too enthralled by the Joneses and prior to the medical red flag Jared Sullinger received, the Warriors strongly considered him at #7. However, they have also worked out Tyler Zeller, who would also fit their want for a backup PF/C with some scoring ability. His 1.5 blocks per night is also not too shabby. Zeller at 7 might feel high to some, but remember, I also had Zeller as a possibility to Portland prior to the lottery, so it shouldn't be uncharted water for him. Think of it as an Ekpe Udoh do-over.

8. Toronto Raptors- Dion Waiters, G, Syracuse #3

Toronto has worked out several shooting guards so far, including Austin Rivers and Jeremy Lamb. Despite their denials, they were the team everyone believed to be the team that made the Draft Combine promise to him, convincing him to cancel his workouts. It's not set in stone, but the Raptors have generally been a team that looks to want to be sure of who they are picking well ahead of time.

9. Detroit Pistons- Meyers Leonard, C, Illinois #12

With Detroit, I think it really is a two man race between Henson and Meyers Leonard. Henson doesn't move Greg Monroe to PF and also doesn't provide the athleticism they probably want. That's why Leonard is still the pick here. Perhaps it's an overreaction to how high Leonard's stock has risen (Leonard is still thought to be working out for teams as low as Minnesota at #18), but there's always a workout warrior that shoots up the board. This might be the 2012 Workout Warrior.

10. New Orleans Hornets- Damian Lillard, G, Weber State #1
I'm confident about this pick, but if it's not Lillard, it's not a lock that the Hornets opt to go with a PG. With today's trade with Washington where they acquire Rashard Lewis and the #46 pick, it adds much more cap flexibility and an extra pick to go with the youth movement the Hornets have going. With today's trade, I don't think NO shops this pick anymore to anyone. Washington took much of their remaining dead weight (contractually).

In the continuing draft circuit, I'm told Kansas F Thomas Robinson had his way w/ UConn C Andre Drummond in a Cleveland workout today (No.2)

not in detroit...if it was a center of value hell yes but no need for any forwards that aren't capable of being 20+ scorers

11. Portland Trail Blazers- Austin Rivers, G, Duke #0
Personally if I were them, I'd double dip and go after another big man, but their desire to fill in Brandon Roy's void has risen in recent days. They could move this pick, but the top lotto teams are starting to settle into their selections a bit, so Portland might have to stand pat. Rivers can step right in and be their starting SG while also being a secondary ballhandler to whomever their next PG will be.

12. Milwaukee Bucks- Perry Jones III, F, Baylor #1
The more I think of it, the more I feel they must address SG at some point if they're not confident in their ability to retain G Monta Ellis. However, there's also a huge void at SF where the only guy seemingly there for the long haul is last year's draft pick Tobias Harris. Perry can play the 3 or the 4 (IMO he's a SF) and add some flexibility for a team that needs some potential stars if they want to hop off the treadmill.

13. Phoenix Suns- Jeremy Lamb, G, Connecticut #3
Is Lamb a great interviewer? Of course not. However, I don't think all of his stock should be placed there. He does have a two year body of work that included a National Championship. He'll need leadership and a good PG to get him through, but that Suns team has strong personalities that will keep him in line and in the game.

14. Houston Rockets- Terrence Ross, G, Washington #31

With this selection, the Rockets get major insurance at guard. It's a position that they must start to address because the team clearly wants to have a different SG other than Kevin Martin there starting next season. Ross would be a very good shooter and defender for this team while also taking some pressure off them when it comes to looking to re-sign RFA Courtney Lee.

15. Philadelphia 76ers- John Henson, F, North Carolina #31

Elton Brand may be amnestied. Tony Battie was done as a basketball player years ago. Craig Brackins isn't that good. All they have left is Nikola Vucevic, Thaddeus Young, and RFA Lavoy Allen. Henson doesn't provide muscle but he provides length as a shot blocker and rebounder for a team that looks unsettled in their frontcourt.

16. Houston Rockets- Jared Sullinger, F, Ohio State #0
21? 22? 2nd round? I don't think it's THAT serious. Daryl Morey and Kevin McHale love bigs. McHale especially is not averse to somewhat undersized PF's with conditioning issues. He chose Kevin Love 5th for crying out loud. I don't think Sullinger has that kind of upside, but McHale could view him as the PF project he never got to fully develop as Love became an all-star without him. With two first round picks, why not?

17. Dallas Mavericks- Kendall Marshall, G, North Carolina #5
He's not Jason Kidd and he's unlikely to learn from him, but the transition from Kidd to Marshall won't be so stark. Marshall has a very good eye and exceptional court awareness. He'd also have Dirk Nowitzki as an easy target for buckets, so his impact can be felt sooner than later.

18. Minnesota Timberwolves- Will Barton, G, Memphis #5

This could be a pick for someone else. If not, they're scheduled to bring him in for a workout next week. This team has been rather silent so far, but historically, they only draft players they work out or interview. With Rivers, Lamb, and Ross, Barton is quickly emerging as the next best option, a player that might not soon be undervalued anymore.

19. Orlando Magic- Terrence Jones, F, Kentucky #3
Life after Dwight Howard will soon start, and it's assumed that they'll land a big man for Howard if and when he gets traded. Because of that, they can look to fill in other holes, such as SF where the Magic fans will only have to endure one more year of Hedo Turkoglu. Jones can fit that bill with his scoring versatility.

20. Denver Nuggets- Marquis Teague, G, Kentucky #25
They could look at getting a PF/C at this spot, but PG seems to be the only spot where some depth is needed. He'd fit in well as an understudy to Ty Lawson.

My Pops Forever RIP
21. Boston Celtics- Arnett Moultrie, C, Mississippi State #23
A team like the Celtics could use a jolt of athleticism, and Moultrie provides that. He can't block shots, but he was one of the best rebounders in the country and as Kenneth Faried proved this season, rebounding stats tend to translate very well to the NBA. Moultrie also allows Kevin Garnett, if he decides to return to Boston, to return to his natural PF position.

22. Boston Celtics- Andrew Nicholson, F, St. Bonaventure #44
Nothing really jumps out at you about Nicholson, but he's just effective. He could use some work on his body to get himself ready for the rigors of the NBA, but he's got a soft touch around the hoop, a good jumpshot, and a knack for rebounding the basketball. At 22, he's good value.

23. Atlanta Hawks- Moe Harkless, F, St. John’s #4

The workouts have sort of dashed hopes that he could be the Paul George of 2012 in terms of draft stock, but he still has tremendous upside. It's just going to take a while before it's fully developed. The Atlanta Hawks could use a bit more immediate help, but they can get that through a Josh Smith trade.

24. Cleveland Cavaliers- Royce White, F, Iowa State #30
Pretty much Jared Sullinger with mental problems as opposed to physical ones. I believe location will strongly affect how successful Royce White will be at the NBA level. He'd like to stay closer to home in Minnesota, but Cleveland looks like they're building something special there, something he could play a big part in as a jack of all trades forward off the bench.

25. Memphis Grizzlies- Evan Fournier, G, France #13

Maybe scouts are seeing something I'm not, because I'm not convinced he should be a first round lock. He can shoot and has the physical attributes to be a pesky defender, but he might be one of the more overrated draft picks this year. He'll be taken ahead of some better talent.

26. Indiana Pacers- Tyshawn Taylor, G, Kansas #15

The Pacers proved that they're a tough out, losing to the Heat in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, but they could use a bit more stability to the backup PG position. They must decided whether Darren Collison can hold down the starter's job full-time, and the best way to do it is to give him legitimate competition to push him, because Taylor's got the skills to be able to wrestle that job away from him.

27. Miami Heat- Fab Melo, C, Syracuse #51

Just what they needed, a 7 footer with size and blocking ability that if molded correctly, could be a scary anchor in the middle. Melo will need time, but he'll have good teachers in Udonis Haslem and Joel Anthony to show him the ropes in the NBA and instill hard work, something Melo could learn to instill in himself.

28. Oklahoma City Thunder- Jeff Taylor, F, Vanderbilt #44
While Taylor doesn't slash to the hoop well, he developed a great outside shot during his senior year at Vanderbilt. He's a lockdown defender that can allow Kevin Durant to roam and defend other players if they're out there at the same time.

29. Chicago Bulls- John Jenkins, G, Vanderbilt #23
This is a pick made for the Bulls that can benefit them greatly once Derrick Rose returns from ACL surgery. He is a lights out shooter in the mold of J.J. Redikk and has a Stephen Curry-like quick release that is virtually unblockable. He needs to add more dimensions to his game, but at worst, he's a replacement and dare I say, upgrade to Kyle Korver.

30. Golden State Warriors- Quincy Miller, F, Baylor #5
Great value for Miller here. They'd probably want Jeff Taylor to fall here to give them more immediate help, but they have a team they feel is ready to compete now. Bringing along Miller can be huge for them once he's ready because by then, the Warriors might become a playoff regular.

oh hell naw how did Machado rise? He was supposed to go to the Lakers with the last pick. We need PG's asap, and from what I have heard and seen from him is that he is a really improved shooter and I was hoping Machado stayed with us. The Knicks or any team better not fukk it up and get him before us. And even though I highly highly doubt it, but the LAkers are supposed to and want to look to try to trade for Perry Jones, but I doubt it highly.

17. Dallas Mavericks- Kendall Marshall, G, North Carolina #5

:ohhh:

this would be great for the dallas squad...

and i don't really see tony wroten dropping to the second round......if he would of went to a major ACC or Big East school i think he would be a lock for the lotto....even though he can't shoot, he can pretty much do everything well.....a 6'5/6'6' PG with quite possibly better pg skills than any pg in this draft not named Kendall......you can't pass on that shyt

No matter how many times I look at this draft board layout, no player fits a need more than Jenkins, especially with Mayo being a restricted free agent. How you would go into another season without a 3 point shooter would blow my mind.

And its amazing how anytime Jenkins is mentioned its to the Bulls and how its a perfect fit...shyt MEMPHIS is a perfect fit!
