I grew up with Rob Sacre drafted at the 60th spot by the lakers. His offensive game is kind of weak but hes a beast on the D. What are the odds on him staying on the roster

It's possible he'll be there on opening day. They're low on bigs (not to mention they're way over the salary cap and can't really afford anyone beyond the veteran minimum) and he already has a NBA skill they need.

I talked to Jon Krawczynski yesterday. Adelman wants this. Kahn's going along with it because it'll probably keep him around past next year.

Tre, it seems Kahn is determined to get Pau. You think he might be crazy enough to include Pek. Something along the lines of D Will, Beas, Pek and i guess Darko. If so Mitch better jump on that. We'll even be kind enough to throw in Blake. :pachaha:

Imagine trotting out a lineup of Rubio, Ridnour, Buddinger, Love and Pau :mjpls:

No. Rick Adelman wants Pek here. It would defeat the purpose at least on Rick's end of things.

There's literally no real reason to make a trade like this with LA. None. Not even the excuse of wanting to win now works because the team ain't winning shyt if Ricky's not healthy.

So I finally got a chance to go back in this thread and look at people's reactions to the Cavs taking Dion Waiters at #4. What I saw was 3 pages of nothing but this :snoop: and this :krs: and this :comeon: and this :dead: and this :lolbron:.

Meanwhile, Chad Ford on ESPN gave the Cavs draft an A- and said Waiters was the most dynamic scorer in the draft.

On CNNSI, Sam Amick gave the Cavs an A and said that if they had passed on Waiters that Sacremento at #5 and Golden State at #7 would have taken him.

Chad Ford has this weird dislike for Austin Rivers though. Rivers is a more dynamic scorer, Ford just won't admit it because he doesn't like Rivers Kobe-like attitude.

Just because Sacramento & Golden State would have taken him don't mean anything. Sacramento took Jimmer early last year.

Here's what Ford said in 06 -

Foye is an excellent pick, however. He should be able to come in immediately and play both the one and the two for Minnesota and provide a big scoring boost in the backcourt.

The issue isn't that Waiters could suck, it's that like Thompson last year, they could have traded down and got him. Even if it's just trading the 4th for the 6th, pick up a damn asset in the process. Take Barnes 4th then work out a deal with the Warriors, take Drummond 4th and work a deal with the Pistons, it makes no sense why it's now their M.O. to take a player much higher than they are expected to go without getting assets.

Exactly

And they have to pay these guys more when they draft them higher. They missed out on assets and they're spending more money than they needed to
