I heard we invited him for a 2nd workout. If we draft him this draft will have been a complete let down.
He will be a scrub. I watched him and lavine closely all season. He put up numbers but he will get shutdown by real nba defenders
He really reminds me of a Kendall Marshall skill-set and a blend of Trevor Ariza with shades of Magic Johnson.
In terms of his define skill-set, it's a lot like Marshall. Although Marshall can play at different paces while Slow Mo seems to play at a slower pace but doesn't hurt pace with his style. His shooting is like Ariza even if his defense is no where close. Ariza has good lateral quickness and Slow Mo has horrible lateral quickness. Both have the same measureables and both have potential or in Ariza case and wreck havoc in terms of team defense.
As far as Magic Johnson, he has the same type of ball handling and first step of Magic. Now Magic is much faster with the ball in his hands, can score in the post, and can play at any tempo. Not to mention, he's more talented in general. The fastest big man (over 6'7) player in the NBA history other than Lebron with the ball in his hands.
Overall, he will be a work in progress. I think a team need to place him in the right role and he needs to be in the right system as well. I see him as a high risk high reward type. For his grade (mid 1st). I think he might be a little over valued.
As for Otto Porter and Boris Diaw. Porter was a much better NBA prospect than Anderson is and to be frank, should be a solid player next year. The system the Wiz run isn't conducive to Porter's skill-set.
Diaw doesn't play like Anderson. I remember when Diaw first came to the NBA. The Hawks played him at PG to SF. He didn't have the ball handling for PG and he didn't move well without the ball in Atlanta and Atlanta didn't move the ball well so it didn't help matters. Diaw to me was a much better athlete than Anderson. Diaw was a much better defender and he had a better body type. Anderson's body type is kind of skinny fat and really could have Ariza frame with conditioning. He's a NBA SF to me while Diaw could play Forward in general. Diaw was more raw than Anderson but Anderson's transition to the NBA will be was tough regardless of where he lands.
I like T.J. Warren. A less quicker, better defending Reggie Lewis (R.I.P.)
