Tbh....Mullen better bolt NOOOOOOW. He can leave knowing he's gotten MSU in a position to REALLY compete as well as knowing he's gonna have to replace Prescott and other key players. Better to leave too soon than TOO late when your stock isn't at its peak
I didnt see this post before I said the same thing.

Mullen is to timid of a coach to win on a big time level.

He stays at Miss. State he can always live up to their expectations.

ya know what I don't get

we are all fans of college football, and watch at least a DECENT amount of college football

think of all the heartbreaking, last second, wtf, can't believe it, on the road, night game type losses teams experience.

think of all the HOT teams that inexplicably lose games by field goals to randoms

Think of all the teams who "should've been" if not for injury

think of all the teams who "were going to" but got suspended or something

think of all the teams whos' talent was usurped by bad coaching

How the hell are people not respecting 11-0 teams.

there are MANY...MANY COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAMS AT ALL LEVELS who have NEVER won 11 games in a single season period. Let alone 11 in a row.

How can you not respect clemson and iowa on that level? Getting READY TO PLAY FOOTBALL and execute enough to win 11 times in a row is achievement enough to garner respect, to discount them, and say teams that DIDN'T DO THAT, and DID fall victim to the above things.

To say "team x hasn't played anyone so their 11 straight wins aren't good" is really some total bullshyt. If you are in one of the legit conferences and win 11 in a row, you're a top team period to me. if they lose then that changes but winning football games is such a thin margin of error, you're foolish to discount teams that run the table, if they're in a major conference.

I don't think it's disrespecting as much as comparing them to other really good teams with 1 loss who might be better and faced a tougher schedule.

Iowa has had a pretty easy schedule and I don't think they'res anyway u can think they're one of the 4 or even 15 most talented teams in the country but if they go undefeated they'll get in and I have no problem with that

Good post. I think a lot of it is people buying into all these espn made up stats. They put more stock into game control, sor, sos, ect ect than actual wins and losses :mindblown:. The'll say this conf is better than that conf and in reality the parity of college football has never been better

But who did those 1 loss teams lose to? And why did they lose? And why didn't iowa or clemson lose to similar odds?

Would Ole Miss @ home be the most difficult team on either clemson or iowa's schedule? no
is texas on a neutral field be an amazingly tough game for Iowa or Clemson. i doubt it.
MSU lost to a trash nebraska team; iowa faces them saturday. Clemson would work nebraska

you gotta look at it that way not some "their schedule is weak" shyt unless its like...AAC or Hawaii or some shyt

its like, getting prepared, staying healthy, going in, executing for 11 straight games, or 12/13/now FOURTEEN straight weeks is insane

florida state last year got 'exposed' brehs they had won like 20 something straight games and had more film on them than ANYONE in america; it was just their turn to lose to a better team.

Alabama Nick Saban and lane kiffin got out schemed by urban meyer and tom herman, period. its virtually impossible to do everything right every week and if you do, you can't be robbed of the reward.

remember when boise in 2010 was supposed to be finally come of age? they had won 23 straight games and had won 35 of their last 36 games. What happened?

Lose to nevada in overtime in week 11 :wow:

its that easy

I respect Clemson's 11-0, but not iowa. I can't.

As I said, their schedule is the equivalent of let's say West Va or Texas Tech AVOIDING Oklahoma, Baylor, TCU, and Oklahoma St..then replacing them with low level football schools like Rutgers.

That's not to say that Iowa is trash. They just don't have the proof to prove their 11-0 is worthy. At least Houston and Memphis, wile they were undefeated, played competition that's perceived as equal or better than them.
