if it was possible to change confs in 1 off-season, the Big 12 needs to go after Houston NOW. :damn:

It would give Herman more of a reason to stay, they have a new stadium and a great recruiting base. A&M and Texas are faltering a bit, you slap a P5 label on Houston and things would get interesting.
i can't forgive the big 12 for ruining what would've been the GOAT college football system, if they had dissolved...4 spots..4 conference champions...no bs

anyway, IDK man, they play in a 40k stadium...even rutgers is puttin in 52k...they don't have the means to sustain success like this...i mean herman had one good season and everyone assumes he's gonna leave.

They're still Houston and facing oklahoma, baylor, TCU, KSU, TX every year is not going to help them out

1. TCU's nice new (remodeled) stadium holds 50K. Baylor holds 45K....it just looks bigger than it is. So that point is kind of a wash.

2. The Big 12 dissolving would've been bad. There would've been too many teams spread across too few confs, IMO. Log jam at the top. ONly thing I can't forgive the Big 12 for is letting 4 teams leave, then drag their feet about finding new teams. But if rumors are true, you can blame the Longhons for the conf falling apart.

3. Houston went from awful to winning a lot with the same talent. I think it can be sustained somewhat if they can keep Herman. Maybe 10-1 in the AAC translates to 7-3 in the big 12. :manny:

Plus, schools like Oklahoma and OSU recuit heavily down in the Houston/Katy/Port Arthur area. They land alot of 2-3 star kids that were overlooked, and then turn them into impact players.

Houston being in a relevant conf could find a way to keep those kids down there.
