The manner in which Auburn lost last season to Alabama still gnaws at Malzahn. The Tigers scored 44 points, rolled up 630 total yards -- the most ever gained against an Alabama defense -- but still lost.

"We didn't score touchdowns in the red zone. We should have put 60 on them, and we didn't," Malzahn said. "That was the most disappointing thing, when you have a chance to do something special and don't, and then we gave up all those fourth-quarter points.

"We let them off the hook, but we've got them at home this year."

For the most part Les has always had LSU in the SEC Title conversation going into November (except 08, 13, and 14). But he's on this faux hot seat for some reason

People are just eager for a championship considering Bama has won 3 since we last won one

I like Les he's kept the program at a high level after Saban left. People act like he's expendable but I don't think it'll be easy to find someone who can recruit and develop talent as good as Les.

I don't think that counts as letting you off the hook. that's FOOLISH PRIDE which Brady hoke had a LOT of. too proud to wear a headset...too proud to sub out qbs when they under performed or were hurt...etc...

Letting a team off the hook is ohio state in the 2013 B1G title game when msu simply didn't stop playing..and won. That resolve is also why the oregon msu game surprised me.
