well you do have to look at the quarterback position and a lackluster quarterback will bring any of the teams you have in tier 1 down with or below the teams you have in tier 2. Which I guess means Ohio State is still #1 right now, until we see what these other teams have. That's why they play the games.

Forget about who is #1. Ohio State/Alabama/LSU are teams with roughly the same talent level. Things like Ohio State's schedule makes them a decided favorite if we're talking about getting to the playoff or winning it. Same with the teams I ranked in tier 2. all are roughly the same in terms fo talent. If I had to pick who makes the playoff from that group, I'd take Florida State and Notre Dame simply because they have MUCH EASIER schedules than the SEC teams.

If I was a betting man, and I'm not, I would put money on Florida State and Notre Dame to make the playoff. They are the best value bets right now given their schedule and their talent level. Ohio State is a lock to make the playoff as everyone else surmises. Then the SEC champion who survives the guantlet.

I've been high on LSU all summer mainly because they have an easier schedule than Alabama. Alabama is fukked this year based on the schedule even though they could be the best team in the country.

@Rigby. based on my analysis, these are the only teams with a chance to win the national title:

Tier ONE
1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. LSU

***gap***

Tier TWO
4. Florida State
5. Texas A&M
6. Auburn
7. Georgia
8. Notre Dame

Auburn is a favorite but I think a tier below Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU. Those teams are just a step ahead of everyone else.
Going by your dumb logic, Auburn been recruiting at least top 11 level since Chizik first full class with top 5 or close to classes throughout. Which means we're ahead of TAMU.

Using actual not stupid logic, LSU would be tied with FSU and Auburn would be top 3 seeing as how QB is such an important position
