How about we take on a bad contract? Jordan Hill and 27th pick for Ariza and #18. They can waive Hill cause he's a team option. Clearing the way for them to go after Aldridge

So they'd get the better player and the better pick?

That seems unlikely. But hey, you never know.

Maybe... I suppose it depends on how people value the picks. This could definitely be enough. The truth is, in the middle/late first, people definitely value multiple players over a marginally higher selection.
