Maybe lakers guaranteed him the pick
Russell cancelled his Sixers workout. Supposedly Sixers don't like his defense and they are big on that 7 foot Dirk Porz. Either two things, he got a promise from the Lakers (high doubtful, Lakers more likely taking a big) or he wants to go to the Knicks (more likely).

Don't nobody wanna waste their time in Philadelphia tanking for the next decade. Russell either going 1 or 2 and I can't blame the Wolves or Lakers cuz this kid got something special about his game. He clearly has the highest ceiling in this draft. I think the Lakers promised him they would take him if he's still available at 2.
Umm he may just be on his way to Philly...the 76ers don't really have much of a choice other to start competing as soon as the season after this next one they will have far to many talented players. Embiid/Noel/Saric/Russell/and a shyt load of cap.

Embiid didn't have a workout for the Sixers last year either. shyt could literally be for a number of reasons. Highly doubt Lakers don't take one of the bigs...too rare...so I don't think they promised him.
