Really breh? Garbage?

He's the youngest player in the draft, he already has an NBA skill that can get him on the floor and contribute immediately, not to mention his NBA skill is the hardest thing to get good at in basketball. Think about all the players who were drafted where ppl said "if only he can get a consistent jumper he'll be really good...." Well this kid already has that

He's 6'5 which is right in line with his position so he won't be undersized. His defensive potential is good. He was well coached in college.

Like I said he's the youngest guy in the draft so he's ONLY going to get better. A young guy that can shoot it like he can from not just long range but all over the floor?

It sounds like some of these nikkas in here might be Kentucky haters or just don't know the game of basketball to call this guy garbage

1) Being young is not a fukking skill. Growth and development isn't guaranteed.
2) He can shoot - but the D League is full of guys who can shoot and do nothing else. A pretty jumpshot is just that - pretty. He isn't gonna be getting 35 seconds to work and screens from 3 1st round talents in a weak conference to get open anymore. We all know that he can't dribble a slinky down the stairs and he's the most assisted player in college hoops. How many rookies get spoonfed like that? How many proven NBA shooters have the benefit of being spoonfed like that?
3) He's 6'5. Okay. Good frame. Good combine. Etc. Having a good NBA size doesn't mean anything by itself. There are 6'7 SGs with equally impressive form that struggled to get good looks. Ones that weren't completely one-dimensional too.
4) His defensive potential? This the shyt I'm talking about. Somebody want to say that other people must not know basketball.... like its some huge achievement to play good perimeter defense when you got Towns and WCS behind you.
5) "Don't take dumbass shots and you can't dribble for shyt so let the Harrison Twins handle that" = well coached now?


Dude just ain't top 10 talent. He's lucky he looks like someone who plays the same position.


People can't even name a half-dozen primarily off-ball wings that transitioned well into the NBA. For most, the list stops cold after JJ and Korver - and both of those guys took half a decade to be worth their time on the court.

Maybe one of you brehs that know more about the low post than I do can explain to me what is it that Jahlil Okafor does in the post that makes him special?



All I really see is dude is outmuscling everyone 90% of the time. Considering that most of the cats that'll be defending him in the NBA will be strong as well, does his skill set really translate? So far it looks like it's almost always one move only. Rarely do I see any kind of counter move. Now if it works, great, but chances are that one move will be stuffed in the NBA. Unless you have an array of moves that make the defender off balance to the point where that one move can be effective. But I don't see that from him.

Rarely any head fakes either. Also the fact that dude isn't hitting wide open people under the basket (like at the 10:30 mark of the video) when he sees a double is alarming. Dude was literally wide open flailing his arms for a few seconds under the basket and didn't get the ball.

As a Lakeshow fan this shyt looks suspect and I'll be more willing to take Russell and combine him with Clarkson going ahead.

Everyone ain't gotta be Hakeem in the paint, for one.

Two, he has good touch at the rim.

Three, he has a good feel for feeling out the defenders position and making the appropriate move to score.

Four, he's a good passer out of the post, whether you believe it or not

Five, ain't many low post scorers out there in general

That said, you're right. Most if not all euro perimeter bigs have a shytty track record being drafted that high. Later ones do better.

That said, you're right. Most if not all euro perimeter bigs have a shytty track record being drafted that high. Later ones do better.

Yeah, I mean he's cool and all & his description sounds cool but every year someone over drafts these dudes thinking they're getting Pau or Dirk. Most of them turn out like Jan Vesely & Andrea Barnagni. I wouldn't touch the Euros until after #10.

Instincts, feel, touch around the basket. Can make the short jump shot and the bank shot. He doesn't let double teams fluster him or rush his decisions. These are things Howard, Drummond, Deandre, etc still can't grasp. He is very fluid and comfortable down there.

He will have time to refine the "post master" level of skills because he will come in with advanced fundamentals.
