You watch that film room you see why Florida hired Coach Mac.He's a smart motherfukker. He stole the show imo.I got a new found respect for him after watching it.Muschamp did a great job too.All the coaches were getting annoyed as fukk with Spielman though :heh: To the point they all just started ignoring his ass.

He learned the ropes from Saban. He's VERY great at attention to detail.

Kind of a disservice to him. I'm sure he learned a lot but it was 3 seasons.

not really. he ALWAYS is singing Nick's praises and how he learned x,y,z from Saban and even wants to mimic Bama:

"I was able to learn from him in a lot of different things that were valuable," McElwain said. "Whether he believed it or not, I sat there and soaked every second and word he had. Took notes. Tried to learn as much as I can. I do the same thing here. ... I get a chance to visit with a lot of people. It's all an opportunity to learn and he gave me that opportunity. The guy is really good now. Sometimes the public perception doesn't do justice for what a good guy he is."

In short, he wants Florida to be more like Alabama.

McElwain is the first to say the Gators still have a long way to go. But he hopes to eventually get a stand-alone football facility, upgrade dorms and make it so everything is top of the line in a world in which food, facilities, facets and features make a difference in the ever-expanding college football arms race.

McElwain learned that — and much more — from Saban.

"It doesn't matter whether you're selling popcorn or calling plays, everybody's got to be on the same plays trying to improve in the same direction," McElwain said. "That's something he's done an outstanding job of obviously. But the one thing he did tell me on the way out the door, he said, 'Mac, whatever you do, make sure you do it with your personality and put your thumbprint on it.'

"That's a great piece of advice."

juco and former alabama rb tyren jones commits to south carolina. muschamp and his staff has done a hell of a job of putting together a solid class and infusing the offense with talent.

I really want him to succeed. Yes he fukked up Florida coaching wise (obviously, or he'd still be coaching here), but I always felt that if he learned his lesson and stays out of the offense way, then he'll have success.

FSU
Can any of you FSU brehs who follow recruitng, confirm if DT Stephon Taylor is on his OV to FSU this weekend?
His teammate committed during the visit.
New Orleans (LA) McDonogh four-star defensive tackle Stephon Taylor took an official visit to Florida State this weekend. After the trip, the 6-foot-4, 292-pound big man spoke with Noles247 about his weekend stay in Tallahassee.

“It was pretty good, I had a good time.” Taylor said. “I liked it. The academics, the environment there was nice and I liked the coaching staff.”

After the visit, Taylor told Noles247 that he’s narrowed his choices to two teams.

“FSU made it up there. I think they bumped it up a notch with this visit,” Taylor says he’ll choose from two teams. “Texas and FSU is about it. It’ll come down to those two.”

Tayor admits that his decision will not be easy. Florida State and Texas appeal to him on several levels.

“Texas has great coaches, great academics, great program. They got everything you could want, but so does FSU also,” Taylor added. “FSU and Texas have about the same thing. Great coaches, program, facilities. I’m just going to have to talk it over with my family, pray on it, talk to my coach and then make the best decision for me.”

A final decision from Taylor will be announced on Signing Day.

Will it be Texas or Florida State?
