Brehs, we can officially write LSU off from winning the SEC West. I just wanna remind folks only LSU & Arky run straight-up pro-style offenses in the SEC West.

Les dumbass is done after this season :snoop:

Coach O out here putting in work :lawd:

Breh, LSU would be MUCH better off if they hired Coach Sark as their OC. They'd at least be up to date with what Bama has done with their offense since Kiffen was hired as OC.

That would actually be a very smart hire for them. If it was me tho, id throw a big ass bag of money at Briles Jr

:leon: Intriguing if true, not sure how he's gonna due recruiting wise but all his Bucs players seemed to like him

With as many QB issues they've had over the years, I thought they'd go after Sonny Cumbie.

:lupe: I'm not a Texas fan, but damn I hope he can get out of this without too much of a hit to his rep. He is on the verge of turning the program around.

No he isn't.

Yes he is. His done a good job turning over the roster & restocking it with his guys. He is a QB away from turning it around.
Every new coach processes and restocks their roster with their guys. That doesn't mean shyt with no development and constant coach overturn forcing players to have to learn a new system and scheme. He regressed from year 1 to year 2, and anytime you have that much assistant coach overturn in so little time is not a good sign. Trust me, as a Michigan fan I've see this writing on the wall.

:martin: Well than thank goodness Texas is installing a reps heavy-based spread offense that only takes a few days to install. I'd be more worried if they were installing another pro-style offense like Michigan was doing under Brady Hoke.

As far as regressing. Texas progressed from Coach Strong's 1st to his 2nd season on Offense & especially on Special Teams. They only regressed on Defense, which makes sense since:

1. They lost several key players to Graduation and/or to the NFL
2. Were playing a lot of Freshmen on Defense
3. Lack of quality D-Linemen due to injuries & Mack Brown recruiting blunders in the 2013 & 2014 class. Strong fixed that with the 7+ D-linemen he just signed in this class.

Texas seemed very inconsistent on offense to me. Some games you would score lots of points on shyt defenses. Next game you would lay a goose egg on Iowa State. I wouldn't really call your offense a progression when you had to switch up who called plays mid season and also find a new OC at the end of the season. As for your special teams, if I remember correctly you guys lost a couple games due to a botched snap at the end of a games causing a blocked punt.

You may have shown some improvements on offense in some games or on special teams in some games. But all in all going from 6-7 to 5-7 is just not a progression from a team standpoint as a whole.

1. :heh: Breh, The fact that UT's struggle offense this past 2015 season after we switched playcallers was a very noticeable progress from 2014, should tell you how GARBAGE (& the issues we had) on offense in 2014 was. That's why we switched playcallers after 1 game.

Going into Spring Football 2016, Most of the issues on offense in Strong's first 2 seasons has been fixed. The ONLY thing we need to be good on offense is 1 of the 5 scholarship QBs currently on campus to step-up & be the guy OR a Grad transfer QB to the rescue.

2. Yes, Special teams cost UT 2 games this past 2015 season, But ignore that. Those were individual mistakes by the kicker & the deep snapper. In 2014, Texas was HOT GARBAGE on special teams. According to Footballoutsiders.com's 2014 SPECIAL TEAMS FEI RATINGS, Texas was #115 in the country.

Coach Strong hired a new special teams coach after the 2014 season and they finished #12 in the country this past season. So, yes their was HUGE progress on special teams.

3. Texas going from 6-7 in 2014 to 5-7 in 2015 has to do with the defense falling off. Even though the offense defintely progressed, it wasn't enough to make up for the defense falling off like it did.

Defense should be better in 2016 because all those Freshmen who were playing in 2015 will be sophomores + plus all the influx of D-Line talent from the 2016 class.

They still wanna do this on New Years eve...
They're gonna count this year as a win for ratings when it increases only because NYE is on a Saturday this year. They will still suffer in the second game though so I don't see it being as high as the first year unless we get another OSU-Bama (Urb and Saban) matchup again.
