First and foremost, Muschamp, who prefers a multi-voice approach to the spirituality component of his program, is looking for a team chaplain to replace Adrian DesPres, who was not retained in December when Muschamp took over the program for Steve Spurrier. The news on DesPres, however, did not hit the news until this week.

Sources indicate that Muschamp’s desire is to hire a person in that role that can form strong connections with all of the South Carolina players. Additionally, this person will not be the only member of the staff whose charge is to enrich the lives of the Gamecocks players from a spiritual standpoint.

The person who ends up in the chaplain role, however, will be similar to Georgia Tech chaplain Derrick Moore, a former Atlanta Falcons player who is arguably one of the top football chaplains in the college game.

If you watch this pregame speech by Moore, you will get the idea of the type of impactful leader Muschamp is looking for.

@Rekkapryde

Scouting chaplains is a thing now?

Yeah we got robbed of that dude's junior year :damn:

Young black talented QB, I still say this guy got next. Reminds me of Jameis Winston in a lot of ways (leadership, poise, confidence)

Notre Dame at full health would have been a playoff team

Bama ass DC
It's crazy how good the SEC could be if they actually had some quality QB's don't understand how they can't produce anything worthwhile from that position. Best QB's in last 5 years probably been McCarron,Aaron Murray and Johnny Manziel too much talent in the league that these schools can't ever get a top tier QB. Bama had to get FSU backup QB and he couldn't even win the job year 1. Dobbs is cool but Tennessee kinda handcuffs him at times they coaching like they shook more times than not.

i think it's a style thing more than not. SEC top teams still run run 1st pro-set for the most part and not spread. they're still of the mindset o "don't fukk it up and let's let the run game and defense win it"
is it a bit archaic? Yea but is it beautiful football? absolutely :ahh:

the problem isn't the QBs, the problem is head coaches in the SEC tend to hire conservative QB coaches who don't ask their QBs to develop much

it's also a complete tragedy you forgot Prescott
