I mean...two years ago people thought Okafor to the Lakers was practically a lock, that the reports about them liking Russell or Porzingis more were just smokescreens to try to get someone to trade up, and then they actually took Russell.

That said, I don't think this is the same scenario. Lonzo to the Lakers just makes too much sense both on the court and off.

You guys are really believing the hype. Lonzo had a dinner, workout and lunch with the Lakers. Lonzo even slipped in his interview that magic told him he wants him to come in and be a leader. Josh Jackson got a workout in Sacramento with only a few of the Lakers officials attending.

Not sure how anyone would expect Lonzo to wow @ workouts. His game def wouldn't translate to looking good during an open gym workout by himself.

I wouldn't make too much out of the Lakers not wining and dining Jackson. Dude has been in Sacramento the whole process as far as I know he hasn't flow anywhere for any private workouts.

BS. Maybe he viewed Yi as having the most upside of the guys expected to be there at 5, but anyone who followed the team at that time knew Durant was who he wanted the most.

let them think that workouts without teammates is all that a player needs and allow Ball to drop to a place like philly or the suns...

I agree to an extent but i also think that Jackson could end up a good fit there as his game develops...And than I also think that he is the BPA at the #3 pick.

I like Jackson's potential a lot, but I don't see how he reaches it if Simmons has the ball as much as we expect him to, and Embiid is a very high usage player ontop of that. I think the contrast between the Bron/Wade Heat and Warriors should make teams focus just as much on team fitment as they do on simply taking the best player available. I don't see how he fits in with what they have, since they seem poised to re-sign Covington, they have Saric and no matter how much people say Simmons is a "PG" he's not going to defend that position.

Ben Simmons hasn't played a game. Squad isn't in a position to be passing up on high level talent to fit in with a guy who hasn't played a minute of ball. Use to think we needed to only think of fit but the more you think about it the more ridiculous it sounds building to fit around one guy who hasn't played a minute and another guy who has played 33 games in 3 years.

He's so far and away the bpa at 3 that you almost have to take him

At the very least he's the best asset that you can later flip him or if he's a stud then you trade someone else

You don't draft a player to be an asset later on.


If there's a player that fits better for the Sixers they should draft that player, if they can get the 5 & 10 for the 3 then yeah do that. But, as much as I like Jackson I don't see how he fits with the players they already have.

Magic, Pelinka, Luke and a few others were there. Supposedly Jerry West is high on Jackson too. I think they go BBB but yeah..
