I'm talking fit and talent. Jackson didn't produce at a level distinguishing himself from any of the people I listed nor does his measurables separate him.

What separates him is his mental and his approach to the game...Dude has too much heart to not improve and start to reach is potential I can't say the same about Smith Jr...

Jackson can be the cutter that the 76ers are missing and his jumper while not the greatest was at a good clip all of his issues are things that can be improved upon.

not sure why @Poitier is laughing - what you posted is true and important. The approach can seperate someone who will develop into a better player - now the down side is that he also may have reached his potential of getting too much better. so it will be interesting - he's similiar to Valentine in that regard., what you see is what you get.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Can't trust Biid to stay healthy or that Ben will be that dude. :manny: Jackson is the BPA at 3, take him then sign some shooters in the offseason.

I agree with @Poitier, it's not just whether Embiid will be healthy, Jackson's game just doesn't fit next to Simmons. I think we've seen how you need to surround these Point Forwards now, and the best running mate for them is a PG that can catch & shoot, play PnR with and most importantly get their defender involved in a switch onto the larger playmaker. The question isn't how Jackson will do with Embiid, it's about how does he play off Simmons who is going to have the ball in his hands a lot.

How does he not fit with Simmons, he's not a ball dominant player and from what I've seen he can play off the ball, hit an open jumper and can be used as a cutter for lobs at the rim. Has a good enough handle to play the 2 also which is where I believe his future is ala Andrew Wiggins.

He'd also allow us to switch on defense from 1-3 with him, Simmons and RoCo.

That guy might not be in this draft

My issue with the fit there is that if you only use him as an off ball slasher/cutter and spot up jump shooter. You're wasting his gifts. I don't want him camped in the corner while Ben has the ball majority of the time. I'd like to see him get an opportunity to handle and potentially develop into a secondary handler.
Would he not be allowed to initiate offense from time to time in Philly? Ben would have the ball mostly I know but he would still have his opportunities to shine

Im laughing because

DSJ came back from an ACL and enrolled himself early to dedicate himself to getting back
Have you heard a Fox interview?
Do you know where Isaac was ranked prior to his senior year?

What makes you think Jackson has some leg up on them in approach to the game?

He wasn't ball dominant because that's not a part of Self's system, but his best attribute at the next level would be playing him on the ball. You don't want him off the ball like that, it's a waste of his talents, and the spacing isn't going to allow for a lot of cutting unless Embiid basically just turns into a stretch big. Taking BPA regardless of fit is how you ended up with Nerlens, Okafor and Embiid, it's time to think about fitment if you believe Embiid & Simmons are the stars.

The Sixers need someone that can shoot and play off ball, trying to shoehorn Jackson into that role is just :ld:

That guy might not be in this draft

If I'm going to draft someone with a questionable jumper may as well be Fox since he'll be able to defend the PG and break down a defense.

PG: Simmons
SG: Jackson
SF: Covington
PF: Saric
C: Embiid

Brett Brown has continuously said Simmons will be put at the PG spot. Not PF, SF.

I don't care just about college production I care more about how that player translates to the pros. College is such a different game then the pros that means little.

Gotta add in who the players playing for too. Self is not a guy who lets induvidual shine he has a rigged system he never strays from

I think these new advanced metric scouts who are slaves to college numbers are doing it wrong it's two completely different games

They told me Jordan Adams was one of the best prospects in the draft because of his high steal rate which they thought meant he was great athlete and defender :mjlol:

Nobody has him going there but depending on how he does in workouts I could see the Sixers taking Tatum
