That's actually a very good deal for Melo.

We don't know wtf Melo is gonna do. His options are limited and while it sounds cool to say "fukk Phil" he has to get consistent minutes if he's gonna earn one last big contract.

They have the same amount of time though. 2 years for Melo, 2 years for Phil.

If Phil through Hornecek limits Melo playing time if he stays. That will only hurt Melo in the long run because he needs to show he has enough left to earn one last big contract as a 35 year old.

Hell the fact he hasn't just come out and said he intends to stay to end the rumors says a lot too.
