He has a thing for ISO guys who don't do much else but score. That explains Tatum. As for Lonzo, he just loves his father that much.

I'm surprised he's not more of a Monk guy.

Malik Monk is a one dimensional player. All he can do is shoot. He's basically a taller version of Lou Williams. I don't have much use for that.

And BTW I like versatile athletic wings that can shoot, drive, and defend. You know real all-around players. Not those false all-around players that put up empty stats.

I do like Lonzo's father. But I also like Lonzo's game. His greatness is easy to see. Even before I heard of his father I thought he should've been the #1 pick in this draft.

#BBB Bringing Showtime Back To LA With Lonzo's Magic Tricks!

Now I have a question for you Spurs fans and people that have watched his game this season, if he waited one more year to leave do you think Dejounte Murray would be a Top 10 pick in this draft? And outside of Fultz and Lonzo are any of the PGs better long term prospects than him this year?

I think he showed the most potential of all the rookie PGs this year and will be the best PG to emerge from the 2016 draft. He looks like a better player than Kris Dunn at the moment, Jamal Murray looks to be more 2 than 1,Tyler Ulis while a good player has clear physical limitations, and Malcom Brogden will be 25 this year (while Murray is only 20).

I can look at his game this year, the physical growth in his body, while also taking in Pop's teaching, Parker/Ginobili/Leonard mentorship and the fact that he played for 60 win team as a rookie and see that he will develop good habits as a winning PG. I think being drafted to the Spurs was the best thing to happen to him to get rid of his bad habits that we saw at Washington (below average outside shooting, turnovers, over dribbling, shooting early in the shot clock, hero ball mentality at times). Seeing the strides the spurs seems to make with all of their players in the shooting department, and Murray's form and quick release I think he will be a good shooter. I can easily see him being an All Star in the league.

Looking at De'Aaron Fox and Murray's measurables coming into the draft, Murray is 2 inches taller (6'5" to 6'3") the same weight as Fox coming in, and has a 3 inch longer wingspan (6'9½" to 6'6½").

Watching some tape this morning of him this season and his season at Washington, and De'Aaron Fox this season at Kentucky and I don't see much separation in their games, except that Murray seems to play longer and more fluid while Fox seems to be more vertically explosive, a tad bit stronger and a better defender. But their speed and quickness looks about the same, first step is about the same, and Murray seems much more confident in his shot and overall offensive game. I think Murray will be one of the best rebounding guards in the league, while Fox will be a big assist guy eventually. That said Murray will be a better shooter and playmaker (and overall scorer) in the League because of his aggressiveness driving to the basket, and I also think the Spurs system will lend to his development being more well rounded than Fox's, especially if Fox goes to an organization with a poor teaching culture (the Kings for example). Murray impressed me whenever he got minutes this year, especially in the postseason. Even when he had bad shooting games he still found ways to contribute.

Look at Their scouting tapes and tell me if I'm tripping to think Murray would be one of the top 3 PGs in this draft. What do you guys think?

Murray

Fox

Dejounte Murray is gonna be a star. He would be my #3 pick in this draft if he were available. Maybe even #2 cause only Lonzo Ball is clearly better in my eyes.

Spurs got another steal. He'll be a multiple time all-star like Tony Parker.

Zach Collins worked out for the Wolves. No word yet on how he did but he had a good pro day

Do you think he will be able to play alongside KAT? I can't see Collins being beyond an average defender and don't see any nasty in his game. I think KAT will thrive with a big, athletic dirty work player alongside him. Some one to be an enforcer/shotblocker tough guy so KAT can roam the perimeter at times and create mismatches.

Bam would be perfect if he can come in and play a Ben Wallace-lite kind of role on the defensive end. I just don't think i got a good feel for Bam's game this season at Kentucky, I feel like their system never lets us know what a big can truly do because of the sacrifices all the big players have to make in their game to play there with that dribble drive offense.

Believe it or not in time I think he could. As I said earlier, in terms of next season I don't think any player in this draft can meaningfully contribute to that team (if they're in position to do so, even worse)

Does anyone else see some Jimmy Butler in Josh Jackson?

@Rawster Dejounte wouldn't have gone top 10 this year. There was a reason he went where he did last year, and the Spurs have done a good job fixing those problems.

Only 1 PG went lotto last year and he underperformed based on where he was selected. The spurs fixing Dejounte's problem clearly make him a player with All Star potential, so outside of the top 2 PGs and maybe Dennis Smith if his athleticism bounces all the way back is there any other PGs this year with All Star potential?

Outside of Fultz and Lonzo which of the other PGs have more potential than Dejounte and why? The reason he went where he did last year is because most teams don't know how to properly analyzed need vs fit vs potential in the draft and it's proven every draft. There is no way I pass on a 19 year old 6'5", long armed, aggressive offensive point guard with great ball handling and adequate passing skills if I'm a team in need of a PG.

You don't think Dejounte has more potential than say a Mudiay or Kris Dunn? wouldn't Mudiay be further along if he was drafted to the spurs?

You can usually look at a young player and see if he has the makeup of a great NBA player, especially at point guard (maybe more than any other position). Dejounte passes the look test for me.

I think all of the top 4 PGs this year have all star potential, I also like Dunn more than Murray still. I don't think Fox or Murray will ever be all stars though.

Fox is different than Murray though, he is faster and an infinitely better defender right now. His handle is better, he's a better finisher, and his explosiveness really makes up for the height/length difference in my opinion.

We don't have a large enough sample size yet to determine just how much Dejounte has progressed as a 3pt shooter either and he is still turnover prone. Fox will be on an all star trajectory if he adds a consistent jumper, Murray has a lot more to do.

I'm not ready to put out a final verdict on Dejounte though, I'll definitely keep paying attention.
