Is Steve Wilks likely being fired after one season in AZ weird or nah?

Why are some saying the season was a disappointment? I know they probably weren’t expected to be worst in the league, but were they expected to do that much better this season? They had injury issues and ended up with a rookie QB they didn’t intend to start.

Was he just a bullshyt stopgap coach, and they’re gonna go after an offensive guy like Mike McCarthy or Josh McDaniels anyway?

I know it’s AZ, so they’re not in the news much...but just seems weird to me.
