What a gym rat :wow:

Won't be suprised if it's a Justin Fields like situation..Probably not as good as Justin but he can lead a team to wins..Malzahn needs to go...Need to send some of these good ole boys with him...
All of that grinding just to be held back for a legacy. If that Florida game is any indication. Yall are set to live and die with Bo Nix.

I always think of UGA as the Dallas Cowboys, for years they have had some of the most talented teams but coaching always holds them back. In a way, UGA should be coming off of 2 straight titles but they're not.

Should have had 3 natty title game appearances under Richt too if we being honest (2002, 2005, and 2012).

We already know. White folks love him. I can't blame the kid, he just wants to play. Any outsider can look at it and see Gatewood needs to be on the field as much as possible. Bo is not a pro prospect. Too short, the offensive line would hinder his sight lines in the league, and not nearly athletic enough to create with his legs.... Gatewood has potential to be that if given the opportunity to get reps in games...

HE was the #1 QB in the country last year. GUS prolly saw what Lawrence did and thought he could be similar

Somebody had to be the #1 ranked guy. Doesn't mean he's the same as other #1s through the years.....He had a father that played and now coaches. He had advantages. He was always going to start in high school because of his situation. He put up numbers as expected. Now he is still benefiting to an extent, because Auburn was going to take him no matter what.

Lawrence is prototypical NFL QB size. Nix is not. That's not everything, but it helps, a lot. Since I definitely don't see Nix doing a lot of escaping NFL caliber defenses with his legs and creating plays like that, I just don't think his ceiling is what other people want to make it...Gus probably did think his best opportunity for survival was with Nix though. He might be right, just because of the rapport he builds with Auburn fans that want to see it...

Our real issue is Gus though. He needs to bring in a real offensive coordinator that will beef up his passing game. We lost big wide receiver recruits because they don't believe in the system he runs now....

Nix is 6'2". He's not too short.

Taking out his sacks, he's probably averaging 5-6ypc. His legs are fine.

I get that you like Gatewood, but no need to lie breh.

Nix is going to be OK. He's a freshman QB. I expect shyt to go sideways. That's just the nature of the beast. Expecting him to perform like Lawrence is crazy.

As for Gus bringing in an OC, been there done that. Rather see him figure this out solo. If he wants to make the bet on himself, then do it. If it doesn't work, now you have reason to part ways.

I've seen a lot of QBs. This is my opinion on him. He isn't more talented than Gatewood when everything is taken into account. I'm just going to sit back and let it reveal itself to everybody else. I talked for years about Matt Ryan before Atlanta fans realized. People want to believe what they want to believe. Nix will be decent to good in college. Might even break a few records at Auburn. Will have a hard time winning the SEC, and that's not because of him but the way Gus runs his program at the moment. Losing the offensive line and NFL guys on the defensive line after this season. He doesn't translate to the NFL. Might even get a chance to prove he can play up there just because people like him and his story. He won't be a starter in the NFL for long if he ever gets the chance....

Gus is what he is...Nothing else needs to be said. He needs outside help...

And that's perfectly fine. College QB's that couldn't do shyt in the league have won plenty.

Gatewood had his chance to step up. This isn't a Fields situation where it was fairly plain to see that he wasn't going to start over a QB that had just won 13 games and went to a NCG the year before. JG got into a straight up competition and wasn't picked.

Now, that doesn't mean he's not decent now or won't be in the future. We've all been there. You gotta make it known you're the best when your name is called.

We can talk about Nix's dad or whatever but it is what it is. Everyone loves the backup QB until he has to run a whole game

I'm not worried about Gatewood playing at Auburn. He can do what he wants. Transfer or whatever.

I'm being realistic about the situation at Auburn right now. Gus has reached the point where he doesn't have it within himself to figure out the offensive situation. Either some changes are going to be made or he'll be out before long. His schemes are old and teams with the athletes on defense can control his offense. So it's really not even about the quarterback at this point. The quarterback can add to the situation if he isn't playing well, but overall it's just old schemes that have been figured out by opposing defenses. He beats most of the teams he has more talent than. He isn't creative enough to beat teams he isn't suppose to beat anymore...That's why he needs outside offensive help. He's stuck...It won't get better as it is...
