Not like he would be ready to play for us by next season anyway so if anything he'd just be sitting out this draft and entering the 2021 draft when he's healthy and can show scouts he's fine instead of just saying it.

this new kid is going to have to be really good to convince Saban IMO. Because Mac doesn't/didn't look bad at all

If Mac looks really good against Michigan that'll help him. And I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up starting the season if he doesn't just get blown away in practice by Bryce but the difference in talent should be obvious. At most Saban will ride Mac until the first sign of struggle then put Bryce in.

Saban loves Bryce he's already talking about him like he's his favorite recruit ever. Bryce was running his own offense at Mater Dei. His football IQ and maturity/leadership is off the charts. So don't think there will be much of a growth period for him.
