I was thinking this trade deadline would be dead because selling teams would be asking for crazy returns since everyone would try to go for it.

A's need another SP, that 4.70 starter ERA aint cutting it in the playoffs. Minor gets rid of Montas, but Manaea has been terrible too
they were in on Rosenthal despite a 1.80 reliever ERA, i guess they feel theres better talent out there to be had in the pen

Keep seeing the Dodgers trying for Lynn. Surprised Rays haven't tried to add another bat. Astros need relief pitching.

Manaea's last 2 starts were pretty good. Only 5 innings in each start but he only gave 1 earned run in each start.
im hopeful. got no problem with the Royals blueprint of getting 5 capable innings then handing it over to the pen. 5 is about all you get out of this group anyway, outside of Luzardo who they are (rightfully) protecting a bit

Price was too steep and our farm is in bad shape.

Yeah I wouldn’t have wanted Price walking through the door either honestly.
If we get anything from JV it’s a bonus.
White Sox being in the discussions for Clev & Lynn make me hopeful they will add one more high end SP in FA to complete this team. We are pretty much locked up for our position players minus RF for many years

he would be perfect, but yeah, with not many high end FA's, his price will likely be too high for us.
