you know what's funny? If we were to extrapolate the Mets current record into that of normal season, with only the typical 5 playoff spots, they'd be right there for the final wild card berth. Compared to years past the National League is looking pretty flabby after the top 3- 4 teams. And even some of the division leaders look vulnerable in a playoff matchup.

This guy is definitely Bobby Axelrod, a new age George Steinbrenner. If he is approved as the Mets owner we will be in almost every big free agency signing race and no expense will be spared. We will actually be able to out spend anyone including the Yankees. But the downside is this guy plays fast and loose with rules we could also lose draft picks and incur a lot of fines due to rule breaking. Yes good news the sale is done, they just need the other owners to approve (not gonna happen until Nov.). If more than 8 veto we back to square one. Also, he is getting 95% of the franchise instead of 80% as the deal that fell through outlined.
